Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch the 2 generous slices of beef melted in the mouth, carrots,peas, mash potato, roasters, cauliflower cheese, semi crisped kale (not like crispy sea weed ) and a delicious gravy absolutely gorgeous, oh had a very nice prawn cocktail to start, a great pint and an Irish coffee to finish , staff attentive friendly no fuss and very prompt service definitely recommend , I normally prefer the wife’s Sunday roast , but will make a point of stopping here again ????(even this review doesn’t do it justice)

Didn’t have our booking when we arrived. When you ask for a Port and Lemon and are asked if you’d like a pint, it really sets the scene. The menu was very very restricted and we had 3 lots of fish and chips and a pie. purely because the meals we pre selected from the website were not available. One of the fish arrived in at least 5 broken pieces and we were told “thats how it came out of the fryer but he can do another if you don’t want it” what we didn’t want to was wait. Desserts really were a joke. A menu with 3 desserts and a cheeseboard where one wasn’t available and the other 2 remaining deserts were chocolate only had 2 portions of each left, makes you question their freshness and whatever selection would have been left for the other 4 diners. Answer is zero. As we didn’t want chocolate we left the desserts. £100 for a very disappointing evening. The waitress was lovely but totally untrained. Our 4 drinks arrived one at a time and the coffees the same. I’d finished mine before the 4th coffee arrived. I left a tip for the waitress as she was lovely and it wasn’t her fault. We left by the back door and although he was there, the landlord couldn’t even thank us. Certainly won’t be going back.

I was extremely disappointed to find the restaurant closed. An hour round trip wasted!!!!
