The dining hall is quite grand and the seats are very comfortable. Kaige Fengsha Chicken Although it is a roast chicken, the method should be like Chinese fried chicken. The marinated chicken is first steamed and then fried in oil. The chicken has the taste of marination and does not feel bland at all. The chicken skin is fried crispy. The only drawback is that the taste is salty. Sanbao oat noodle nest is the most surprising dish. The oat noodles are covered with sauerkraut and potato toppings. The addition of sauerkraut adds a hint of sourness, which relieves the greasy and heavy feeling of potatoes. The oat noodles below are soaked in the taste of the toppings and are chewy, which tastes good. Fried meat is slightly oily as others have commented, and it will feel greasy if you eat it alone. First meal in Datong The first day of my 2020 Datong trip was very different from the feeling I had when I came to Datong in 1990. The charcoal-grilled pork elbow, charcoal-grilled pork with sauce, ground vegetables with shredded potatoes and sauerkraut, cashews, celery and lily in Kaige Restaurant were all delicious and unique.
