Blue Mountains National Park
🌈Attraction Features: The Blue Mountains National Park is named after the large area of eucalyptus trees on the Blue Mountains that emit a light blue gas when exposed to sunlight. If you observe carefully, you will find that some distant photos show a faint blue mist over the forest, which is emitted by the eucalyptus trees. It is the food that koalas love to eat.
The Blue Mountains are very suitable for bringing children to play. The scenic area is free, but taking the cable car costs money. There are three different cable cars that you can take back and forth. The yellow one is stable and suspended over the canyon, allowing you to enjoy the waterfalls in the Blue Mountains. There is a glass area under the cable car, so if you are not afraid of heights, you can look down. If you are afraid of heights, you can look at the Three Sisters Peak on the left front and enjoy the entire Blue Mountains. The scenery is very good, giving you a refreshing feeling at a glance. There is also a red one, an 80-degree inclined mining cable car, which allows you to experience the feeling of miners entering underground mines from the top of the mountain. There is a black section in the middle, very high and steep, but fortunately, the speed is not very fast, so it is not very scary. There is also a yellow cable car that goes up and down from the bottom of the Blue Mountains. If you want to experience the tropical rainforest and visit the mines at the bottom of the valley, you can take the red cable car down, then follow the small map provided by the scenic area or follow the arrow signs to tour the valley rainforest, learn about some tropical plants and animals, and birds. The scenic area will have a sign indicating where birds and snakes may appear. After the tour, you can take the blue cable car back to the cable car station.
🕐️Opening Hours: Around 10 am to around 6 pm. Check carefully when buying tickets, I don't remember exactly.
🚗Transportation Tips: The Blue Mountains are far from Sydney city center. There is no high-speed rail or fast public transportation. It is best to charter a car, drive yourself, or like me, choose a one-day tour on Ctrip. This way, you don't have to worry about how to get there. If you stay in the city center, one-day tours usually include hotel pick-up and drop-off. If not, there will be a very convenient meeting point.
💗Other Tips: There is food available only at the cable car station in the mountains. You can bring some fruits and bread in your backpack, so you can eat when you are tired from walking. Otherwise, if you walk far from the food station, there will be nothing to eat. It is colder in the mountains in winter, so wear more clothes. In summer, there are mosquitoes, snakes, ants, or other crawling animals. If you are timid, be vigilant while playing to avoid being scared.
Blue Mountains National Park was so much fun! It's very close to Sydney, making it easily accessible, and the scenery is spectacular. The Three Sisters sculpture is quite unique. The cable car is very convenient, making the ride very comfortable and not tiring at all. The food at the restaurants was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were all very friendly and polite.
The scenery is stunning, a natural oxygen bar. The scenic area retains the original forest atmosphere while also offering modern cable car transportation. I really enjoyed the downhill train ride. The nearly vertical slope was a bit thrilling, but the speed wasn't too fast, perfect for beginners like us who enjoy a bit of fun.
The wonderful weather, Amazing,Majestic, Fantastic and Funny
Blue Mountains National Park is a natural wonder. Eucalyptus trees in the park release gases to form blue mist. The Three Sisters Peak, Ginolan Cave and other magnificent landscapes are also rich in Aboriginal cultural heritage. The scenery here varies in seasons, and there are many ways to play, such as hiking, sightseeing and cable car rides. It can make people feel the beauty of pure nature away from the hustle and bustle.
You can take the Blue Mountain Line from Sydney Central Station to Katoomba Station to get off at Blue Mountain Park. There is a bus every half an hour. After exiting the station, walk 50 meters south to the Carringtorington Hotel. Wait for the 686 bus at The Carringtorington, which runs every half an hour. After two stops, you will arrive at the Three Sisters Square. After visiting, continue to wait for the 686 bus at the get-off point. It will take 5 minutes to get off at the Scenic World. There are 4 projects in the scenic world. The forest train railway, the scenic walkway, the scenic cableway, and the skyway. The train is very steep and fun. You can walk after getting off the scenic cableway and the skyway. After the tour, continue to return to the 686 bus, take the bus back to the Carrington Hotel, return to Katoomba Station and take the train back to Sydney Central Station. The scenery of Blue Mountain Park is charming, you can take more photos as a souvenir
Many years ago, I walked around the Blue Mountains National Park with a tour guide. The guide was very detailed and well-introduced, but it was better to walk around and look at the map book to understand it better. There is no entrance fee for the Blue Mountains National Park itself. The money is spent on three different means of transportation. The most labor-saving and worry-free way to play is to take a sightseeing bus to a scenic spot to take pictures, take a sightseeing bus of the same color back, and then transfer to another different color of transportation. The feeling is different and the scenery is also different. We have good leg strength and shuttled through the rainforest, looking at the tall trees, the former mine caves, and breathing fresh air to clean our lungs [smile]
[Scenery] We just encountered the spectacular wildfire scene in the Blue Mountains, but the Three Sisters Peaks at our feet were blessed by the gods, allowing us to capture the camera and see another side of nature. [Fun] When we explored the Blue Mountains again, we encountered a wildfire on the opposite side. The cable cars were all closed and the mountain was closed, but the Three Fairy Sisters Peaks next to us were blessed by the gods and quietly paid attention to the mountains on the opposite side. [Value for money] This time we participated in a local one-day tour group, which was also good!
I went to the Central Station and took the Blue Mountain Line. The whole journey took two hours. The train was a bit slow, but it was comfortable to look at the scenery outside the window and take a nap. The train was very clean, unlike the poor conditions reported on the Internet. After getting off the train, I took a free bus to the scenic area. The Blue Mountain National Park has magnificent scenery and the air is particularly fresh. Walking there makes me feel comfortable. The three cable cars have their own characteristics, which is very different from the experience of cable cars in China.
