Although the main hall is still under renovation, it's worth a visit, as it is a World Heritage Site. Climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of Naha, which is quite nice, but the climb is not easy and not suitable for people with mobility issues or those who dislike hiking.
showed up during a ceremony, was interesting to watch. Still not complete but was something to look at. Paid 600 yen for parking but the lot was convenient to get to and from.
Unfortunately for me, I happened to be there during renovation time so I couldn’t catch the final version but the general structure was visible from a distance and looked very impressive. There’s a nice souvenir shop close to the entrance as well with interesting designs and keepsakes.
Shuri Castle is not very big. It takes another 15 minutes to walk from the light rail to the terminal, but it is easy to find. There are not many ancient artifacts inside, but they are all exquisite and unique. There are also many staff members to guide along the way. Basically, it takes more than an hour to visit one road. There are many interesting things in the gift shop. I bought some refrigerator magnets. There is a stamp collection activity. You can stamp at each small scenic spot. Zhongshan Le Tongzi's calligraphy is really great. I hope it was not burned in the fire.
I'm not a history buff, but whenever I go out I always look up something historical. This time I came to Shuri Castle and I have to say I was very happy to be here. As a European, our castles are completely different from here and it was like a breath of fresh air for me. There weren't many old things in the castle, but the castle itself was the focus of our visit.
Shuri Castle When you first come to Okinawa, you must be a competent tourist and witness the rise and fall of the Ryukyu Kingdom. You will definitely not miss Shuri Castle, the most representative of history. Shuri Castle is a Ryukyu-style castle located in the eastern suburbs of Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. From the 15th to the 19th century, it was the capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom and the location of the royal palace. Shuri Castle was the capital of the Zhongshan Kingdom during the Sanzan period (Sannan, Zhongshan, and Sanbei). After the Shuri Anshi Sho Bashidō 1 Sanzan established the Ryukyu Kingdom in 1426, Shuri Castle was directly used as the royal castle. It was once canonized by the Ming and Qing dynasties and was a vassal of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The second Sho Dynasty also used it as the capital and expanded it. For more than 450 years since then, Shuri Castle has always been the capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom and the center of the Ryukyu Kingdom's politics, economy, culture and foreign trade. Shuri Castle was reduced to ashes by the attack of the US military during World War II and was rebuilt in 1992. This is a must-take photo spot when you come to Shuri Castle. You always have to take photos when you enter the gate. I heard that this gate is also a 2000 yen pattern, but I didn’t get 2000 yen this time and I can’t verify it. The country of etiquette means that Ryukyu is a country of etiquette, and it also represents the cultural spirit of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Transportation: City Line 1, 14, 17 or City Line 46 Shuri Park Station Opening hours: 9 am to 6 pm #日本旅游# #九州旅游# #Onaw旅游#
Most of the museums here do not allow you to take photos. Besides being a good place to take photos, the scenery outside is also nice! Remember to take the stamp collection paper, buy a ticket and go in. After collecting stamps, you can exchange them for small gifts. I personally think the gifts are good and worth exchanging. They have commemorative value. Don't worry if you don't understand Japanese in the introduction of the museum because there are Chinese signs, which are super clear.
The palace left by the former Liuli Kingdom. The entire palace is built on the mountain, and the view from the top is quite good. Although it is a visit to cultural relics, the whole trip is not boring. You can get a map of the itinerary of Shuri Castle at the entrance. You can collect stamps at each corresponding scenic spot. If you collect all the stamps, you can get a small gift, which is quite interesting.
