Changkangju Night Market is the only one in Chiang Mai that opens every day. It opens to the latest night market street. If you want to eat late at night, you can only come here, because many stores 5-6 stores are off work, and the lively ones are about 9-10. I also get off work. After 10 o'clock, there is only Changkang Road Night Market that may be open ~ and this is the night market next to the market + food court. There are people playing guitar and singing in the square where they eat. There is also a Muay Thai competition venue next to the food court. Very hot, I never dared to enter anyway, I admit it. On the night market, there are everything to sell, eat and drink, clothes, bags of shoes, accessories, crafts... The price is moderate, but you can still bargain, bargain at will, but the boss said that it is not sold, that is really not sold. Thai people are still more real. I like to buy clothes in that market the most. The quality is OK. The style is also more. In Chiang Mai, the best way to travel to the night market is to take a motorcycle. Hahahaha, it is fast and save, and it is too late to grab a taxi.
Since during daytime it can be hot it is very convenient to go out at night for shopping. There are all kinds of handicrafts. clothes, souvenirs, street foot. It is a great place to have fun.
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is the birthplace of all tourist shops in Chiang Mai. Every day from sunset to 11pm, it is bustling with people. Most local specialties can be bought here. Many hill tribe artists set up stalls here, wearing their own unique costumes, which are easy to identify. The sidewalks on both sides of the road are filled with stalls filled with various ethnic items.
Walking in the Sunday night market in Chiang Mai, accompanied by the various melodies of street artists, I recalled the past. With the development of China's economy, we have built various large shopping malls in various cities, while the markets representing agricultural society are gradually withering. This has to make me, who is nostalgic, a little disappointed. While we have modern, standardized and process-oriented shopping malls, we have also lost the freedom, interest, bargaining power, intimate trading experience, and richer and more diverse choices of traditional markets. Chiang Mai's Sunday market does not have the hustle and bustle of some ancient cities in China, and there is no deafening hawking from the loudspeakers of the shops. Here, there are only the elegant melodies of the artists, accompanied by the voices of tourists and shop owners talking. People of all colors walk here in order, and everything seems so harmonious and peaceful. Why do I like Chiang Mai's Sunday night market? Why? When I was halfway through, I found the answer: it evokes my childhood memories!
At 4 pm, the stall owners of the Sunday market began to set up their stalls one after another. In the Sunday night market, the main street is full of various handicrafts, and street food is generally concentrated in various side streets. I found a Thai fried noodle stall in a side street. It was opened by two uncles. There was a pot, and the uncles fried it on the spot. The taste was very positive and fragrant, and the sweetness was just right. After returning to China, I met with my foodie friends and talked about the Thai fried noodles we had eaten. We both ate this one by coincidence, so I believe that real foodies are in tune with each other. In the same side street as the Thai fried noodles, pork offal soup noodles, Thai people like sweet tastes, the noodle soup is sweet, I think it would be more delicious if it was salty, the noodle skin is not tough enough, not very delicious, but the pig blood, pig liver, pig stomach, and pig lungs are all very delicious. The New Year's Eve dinner on New Year's Eve depends on snacks, but it is also fate to sit around and eat a bowl of noodle soup with tourists from various countries who met by chance. The local pineapples are very sweet. There are all kinds of juices and fruit shakes. They can be served with full ice, half ice, or no ice. Of course, the prices will be different.
It's not bad. There are many places to visit, and there are two large food courts not far from each other. The next day, we wanted to buy some souvenirs, so we went to Chiang Mai Night Market again. In fact, in Thailand, besides visiting night markets at night, you should also visit night markets. This is what I am passionate about. Although I would not be so active in China, it is probably because there are more night markets in Thailand.
We took a tuk tuk to Thapae Gate and were surprised by the huge crowds for a Sunday night market. There were lots of stalls and food stalls and lots of people. The street performers were fun and they sold everything. We then went to a bar and sat and watched the people go by which was nice. This was a great place for people watching.
