From start to finish, everything was well-organized, welcoming, and genuinely memorable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly cared deeply about the elephants and their wellbeing.Being able to spend time with the elephants up close—feeding them, learning about them, and watching their personalities shine—was something I’ll never forget. The guides did a great job explaining elephant behavior and making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the visit.The whole day was smooth, fun, and meaningful, and the sanctuary itself is a gorgeous setting. If you’re in Chiang Mai and want an ethical, respectful elephant experience, I highly recommend Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. I’m so glad I went!

We did a half day afternoon visit to EJS Camp 1.2 in Mae Wang and it was everything we asked for. The wonderful hospitality started with our Driver Som picking us up from the hotel and then being hosted on site by Guides San and Chai. Learning more about the elephants and observing them eat, bathe and even having a mud spa was a really great experience. They have shower facilities so don’t worry about being dirtied by the mud or getting into the water cos it’s your loss if you don’t do it. I even earned elephant mud tattoos. They even provided an early simple dinner with noodles, rice, tofu, veges and curry potatoes and chicken. 5 stars all round from me.
