A mountain that has been part of the city and the sky since I was born. I've visited countless times since I can remember. The last time was during university when I joined the freshman hike up the mountain, walking over 14 kilometers. Was it exhausting? Absolutely. But reaching the top was the most heartwarming feeling, receiving encouragement from seniors, friends, and juniors from all faculties. Since graduating, I’ve gone every year without fail.
a beautiful temple on the mountain in Chiang Mai. From there you can see overview of Chiang Mai city
Let's go worship at Phra That Doi Suthep. This is the third time I've been here. If I have the chance, I'll definitely go again.
From Nimmanhaemin Road, take a songthaew to the gate of Chiang Mai University for 30B/person. There is a special songthaew to Doi Suthep Mountain, a one-way trip to Doi Suthep Mountain is 40B/person, from Doi Suthep Mountain to Bhuping Palace is 40B/person, from Bhuping Palace back to Chiang Mai University is 80B/person, and back to Nimmanhaemin Road/MAYA Shopping Mall is 100B/person.
Doi Suthep is located 16 kilometers west of Chiang Mai, with an altitude of 1,667 meters. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Thailand and a famous Buddhist holy place in Thailand. "Suthep" means "fairy friend" in Thai. The local Chinese calls it "Meeting the Fairy Mountain" or "Meeting the Fairy Mountain". After climbing the mountain, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of Chiang Mai. If the weather is good, you can have a panoramic view of the entire Chiang Mai city in the southeast from the viewing platform, and the beautiful scenery is unobstructed.
It can be said that if you have not come to the mountains, you have never been to Chiang Mai. The viewing platform of Shuanglong Temple on the hill overlooks the beautiful scenery of Chiang Mai. It's a long way from Chiang Mai to the mountains. Chartered cars are generally not very cheap. We first went to the entrance of Chiang Mai University to find the double car pooling place of Shuanglong Temple in Sutieshan. There will be other tourists waiting for the car pooling.
There are many temples and royal gardens around Suthep Mountain, with beautiful scenery, which is a good place for leisure. Such as Doi Suthep Temple, etc.
Suthep Mountain is located about 6 kilometers south of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Thailand and a famous Buddhist holy place in Thailand. "Suthep" means "fairy friend" in Thai. The local Chinese calls it "Meeting Fairy Mountain" or "Meeting Fairy Mountain". The golden tower in the temple is called the Stupa. The tower is covered with gold foil, towering into the clouds, dazzling and magnificent under the sun. The Stupa houses the remains of Sakyamuni. Around the tower are historical paintings and statues of Buddhist monks from various dynasties in Thailand. According to legend, the site of the Stupa for storing Buddha's bones was selected by the elephant carrying the Buddha's bones. When the elephant arrived here, it stopped, shouted three times, circled three times, and knelt on all fours. Phai Chaojuna, who transported the Buddha's bones, believed that this was the will of the Buddha, and immediately started construction on the spot and built this Stupa.
