Renfe Children Fare

Children aged 4 to 13 receive a 40% discount on ticket fares with Renfe. They are entitled to choose seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and can make changes or get refunds based on the ticket type, potentially incurring a fee. Children under four travel for free but do not have a reserved seat. Note that, on Cercanías trains, the free travel age limit without a seat is under six years old.

Groups of 4 to 9 people travelling on AVE or AVE International trains can receive an 8% discount. Disabled travellers can enjoy Renfe's discounts, offering up to 40% off. By purchasing a Tarjeta Dorada for €6, you can travel on AVE, Avant, and Cercanías trains for a year. The discount on Avant trains is more substantial on weekends. Refunds or changes to tickets depend on the type of ticket and may come with a fee.

Básico

Básico is the cheapest fare on AVE trains. It is not refundable or changeable.

Elige Estándar

Elige Estándar fare on AVE trains is slightly more expensive than the Básico fare. This ticket option opens the possibility of refunds (70% of original ticket price) and one change free of charge along with many additional paid services.

Elige Confort

Elige Confort is slightly more expensive than Elige Estándar. The main difference is that the seats are XL Confort, which are wider and offer more leg room.

Prémium

Prémium is the most expensive fare, offering unlimited free changes and refunds, and XL Confort Seating.
