#backpacking2026 Exploring a Beautiful Mosque in Colombo During my visit to Colombo, I had the opportunity to explore one of the city’s beautiful mosques. The architecture immediately caught my attention, with its elegant design, detailed decoration and peaceful surroundings. What I enjoyed most was experiencing a different side of Colombo beyond its busy streets and tourist attractions. The mosque reflected the city’s rich cultural diversity and the long-standing presence of Islamic heritage in Sri Lanka. Walking around the area and observing the architecture was a memorable part of my Colombo trip. It was a peaceful experience and gave me another perspective on the city’s history and culture. Colombo is a destination where different communities, traditions and architectural styles come together, making even a short walk through the city interesting and memorable.
