Anonymous userThe scenery is quite nice, especially the area near the entrance. It's a bit chilly now that the weather is cold, and the wind is a bit chilly. There are fewer tourists, and the entrance fee and desert attractions are cheaper than Shapotou. Transportation is not very convenient for individual tourists, so you have to take a taxi.

M26***g8It was so cool to experience staying in a tent, riding a camel and some other entertainment activities in the desert. The weather was pretty good these two days. You can enjoy the cool breeze and watch the sunset at night. It was super romantic. The service attitude of the staff was super good. Now it is the off-season, so tents are not expensive, and it is very cost-effective.

云朵上的喵Because of the rain, the booked Shuidonggou Scenic Area was temporarily closed, so we changed it to Qingtongxia Scenic Area. The itinerary was quite good; we took a boat, went rafting on sheepskin rafts, and experienced the 108 Pagodas. Finally, we took a large truck to ferry us out.

153***09The Five Lakes Crossing: Starting and ending at the desert entrance, the route covers Luotuo Lake, Wulan Lake, Danhuang Lake, Hailiuqi Lake, and Jita Lake. The three-hour journey takes us to the edge of Luotuo Lake and Wulan Lake, where we even get to take aerial photos (though I only managed to take them 😂). We didn't get to the other three lakes directly, just observing them from a distance. If you're concerned about this, please be cautious and ask ahead of time. The main purpose of the trip is to experience desert off-roading. The driver was very skilled. The last three photos show the view from a distance.

RejectorThe scenery was quite unique, but the part at Tomb No. 4 on the tour bus involved a horse-drawn carriage ride. Honestly, after seeing the first two tombs, many people were a bit tired of Tomb No. 4, and didn't even get off the bus. The carriage ride itself was just so-so; you can skip it if you want.

盛夏的清凉Yongtai Ancient City is an ancient city built with rammed earth. It was very prosperous in history, but now only a few households live there. It is completely uncommercialized. Tourists who like the original ecology can visit it on the way. You can park your car in the open space outside the city gate or drive directly in. The ancient city is not on the northwest loop route, so there are not many tourists.

M35***19As a local, I've never been there before and thought it was just a few earthen mounds. But after I went there, I found that it was indeed just a few earthen mounds, hahahaha. However, the museum is really well done and exceeded my expectations. The overall architectural style is very consistent with the Western Xia Royal Tombs and is very photogenic. The exhibits are also worth seeing. I recommend it.

MaxSNine tombs of the kings of Western Xia and more than 140 accompanying tombs with the remains of key members of the imperial family and aristocrats are located according to the contours of the terrain on an area of 50 km2 on the eastern side of Helan Shan. Each tomb was an independent architectural complex with an area of over 100,000 m2 with turrets, arches, stele pavilions, outer walls, inner cities, memorial halls, pagoda-shaped altars and walls for worship. Very interesting spot.

M31***69Longyu Winery, nestled at the foot of Helan Mountain, is an absolute gem for any Ningxia traveler! Every snapshot is a European-style masterpiece, making you feel like you've stepped into a European manor. The entire experience was a delightful surprise! A professional guide led us through the winery, from rows of aging oak barrels in the underground cellars to the century-old culture of the second-floor wine museum, and the air was filled with the rich aroma of wine. Even checking out our newest vintage wines felt like a special occasion. The tasting and souvenirs included in the ticket are incredibly good value. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yinchuan!

愉行人After visiting Yinchuan, we went to the Huaiyuan Tourist Night Market to sample a variety of delicious food. We were particularly impressed by the one-meter-long skewers, which cost 25 yuan each and could easily be shared by three women. They were incredibly delicious. The grilled lamb chops were 12 yuan a skewer, made entirely of small ribs, and the meat was incredibly tender. We also had freshly skewered lamb shanks, which satisfied our craving for the rich, tender lamb. We also waited in line for spicy noodles, delicious and juicy pan-fried dumplings, and a grandpa's homemade fermented glutinous rice wine with milk and eggs. We couldn't get enough!
