The negative oxygen ion content in the mountains is incredibly high, leaving you feeling refreshed. The driver was incredibly steady, especially on the winding mountain roads, which was a real test of skill. I even encountered a silver pheasant, and I'm glad the Maoershan International Nature Reserve protects these animals and plants so well.
