Highlights: The Lahore Fort was built in 1021 during the Ghaznavid Dynasty. The fort was used to resist the invasion of foreign enemies. After that, the royal families of all dynasties added various garden pools here, and changed the red sandstone structure of the castle wall to white marble, and built watchtowers, bunkers and other facilities on the city wall. The castle is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fort is also the only group of buildings in Pakistan that completely reflects the centuries-old architectural history from the Ghaznawi Dynasty to the Mughal Dynasty.
