The Jungfraujoch is a must-see destination in Switzerland, with its perpetual snow-capped peaks and sea of clouds, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The large elevator car that ascends the Eiger Peak seats 25 people, and the view below is breathtaking, with cabins scattered across the verdant grasslands, surrounded by lush forests. The scenery is breathtaking, and every angle offers a breathtaking spectacle. The train to the Top of Europe is an articulated vehicle that travels through caves, so it's not particularly impressive. Some areas may not be open seasonally. I took my two daughters and some other climbers and adventure enthusiasts up a nearly two-kilometer snowy trail, but once we reached the summit, there was no way back. We were exhausted. We found out later that this was some kind of summer attraction, closed in October. The staff didn't even bother to check when we left. It's truly open, killing the curious. 😓

Lake Geneva, which shares the same name as the city, is very vast, with a sapphire-like color and sparkling in the sun. From Geneva Airport, you can take a train to Nyon, a small town on the shore of Lake Geneva. The hotel rooms there are large, and the lake view rooms also have terraces to enjoy the lake view. The breakfast is very rich and cost-effective. From the dock in Nyon, you can take a boat to the French flower town opposite and experience the fun of crossing two countries in half an hour. The price of the flower town is lower than that of Switzerland, and it is very pleasant to enjoy authentic French food there.

It only takes 45 minutes to get from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch by express train. You can also enjoy many beautiful views along the way. The Jungfrau Railway was planned in 1893, and it was not until 1912 that the highest railway station in Europe was finally opened. The construction cost a total of 16 million Swiss francs. So it is understandable that the price at the entrance of Jungfraujoch is so expensive.

From Zermatt GGB to Gornergrat, you need to take a cogwheel train. After using the Swiss pass to get a 50% discount, I paid 57 Swiss francs. The ticket price is for reference only. The ticket price will fluctuate during the off-season and peak season. We went there during the National Day. The starting point is opposite the Zermatt train station. It takes 5 stops to get to Gornergrat by cogwheel train. Gornergrat is the last stop. Due to the high altitude, it is easier to see the Matterhorn. Taking reflection photos in Rotenboden requires higher weather conditions. We waited for two hours before we saw it.

Matterhorn is one of the iconic attractions of Switzerland. You can see the tip of the snow-capped mountain from time to time in the town of Zermatt. You can also go to the town's observation deck to admire the snow-capped mountain. You can also see the golden mountain in the sun at sunset and dusk. To see the snow-capped mountain up close, you still have to take the gear train to Gornergrat. Generally, you start from Zermatt GBB first, then reach Gornergrat, the highest altitude, where the probability of seeing the Matterhorn is greater, and then go down one stop to Rotenboden to see the reflection, which requires higher weather conditions, and sometimes you have to wait for sunny days. After watching the reflection, you can choose to return by the original route, or continue to play one stop at a time. It is recommended to check the weather with a local app before departure. Zermatt tickets are not cheap either. The price varies in the off-season and peak season. In early October, it is 114 euros, and the Swiss Pass can be discounted by half.

The Ice Palace of the Jungfraujoch is 30 meters below the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in Europe. It is filled with various realistic animal ice sculptures, silently telling the history of the glacier. The Ice Palace is located 20 meters below the Jungfraujoch Observation Deck. This glacier tunnel is a cave-like room and hall with crystal clear ice sculptures of various shapes, which are very interesting. Because the ground is also ice, you have to walk slowly in the Ice Palace, and some places are still a bit slippery. At the end of the Ice Palace is the outdoor observation deck of the Jungfraujoch. After adapting to the temperature in the Ice Palace, you will not feel the cold outside.

It is a very subtle feeling to soak in hot springs while looking at the snow-capped mountains. The hot springs here are all mineral springs, and the temperature is not very high. Your skin will feel smooth after soaking. For those who are afraid of cold, it is better to go to a hotel with a hot spring pool, especially an indoor one, to enjoy the pleasure of a private pool.

The Alaich Glacier is actually a landscape that looks like a snowy road. It is not cold on a sunny summer day. The wide-angle lens will be very good when you look at the glacier from the viewing platform. There are many piles of stones for making wishes on the mountain. There are also restaurants, and even in summer, they prepare woolen shawls for customers to keep warm.
