Highlights: SassidiMatera (Matra Cave House) is a residential building located in Basilicata Matera, southern Italy. Matera has been inhabited since Paleolithic times. The local people who are mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry built a cave called "sassi" on the mountain according to the terrain here, and gradually developed into a permanent village. After the 1990s, the well-preserved Matra cave dwellings became tourist attractions and were re-developed to show tourists the living conditions of prehistoric cave dwellers in the Mediterranean region.
