Symi Island, located near Rhode Island, is a popular destination for day trips from Rhode Island. This is a pocket-sized island, very quiet, without the hustle and bustle of the ancient city of Rhodes, only the slow rhythm and suffocating scenery. The small town buildings built along the mountain seem to float on the sea water. The houses painted in cream, blue and pale pink are layered on top of each other.Symi · 3.4km from downtown

Rhodesis located in the Dodecanese Islands of Greece, boasting typical Mediterranean natural scenery, with pine-covered hills rolling along the coast, deep valleys hidden among the greenery, and stretches of golden sand contrasting with clear, azure waters, creating a tranquil and charming island scene. Warm sunshine, fresh sea breezes, and diverse landscapes make this island a vacation attraction that combines natural charm with historical depth. White houses are built against the mountains, spreading in layers along the hillsides, creating a sharp contrast with the blue sea and sky. Ascending to the Acropolis of Lindos, you can overlook ancient ruins, the winding coastline, and the heart-shaped St. Paul's Bay at the foot of the mountain.Rhodes · 39.6km from Symi

Oia is located on the northern cape of Santorini, built along the cliffs, with white-walled, blue-domed houses and churches layered along the inner cliffs of the caldera. Sunset is the most iconic view here. Each evening, visitors follow the main path to the town's western end. The west end has two main free viewing spots: one is a seaside platform beside the castle ruins, where the remaining stone tower walls hang on the cliff edge, offering expansive views, and the other is a small square below the windmills, where several traditional windmills are silhouetted against the sunset. You can also book a cliffside restaurant in advance and dine while watching the sun sink below the horizon. The town is also worth exploring slowly during the day. Walking the cliff path through narrow white alleys, you will pass several blue-domed churches, and the three connected blue-domed churches make the classic postcard scene. A few old windmills stand at the town's northern end, another iconic view. At night, shops along the stone alleys mostly stay open late, and bars gradually become lively. If you have time, choose a seafront cave house for a night, and when you open the window you will see the sea toward the caldera.Greece · Santorini

Santoriniis located in the southern Aegean Sea of Greece and is a crescent-shaped island formed by volcanic activity that attracts many tourists. The western side of the island features rolling cliffs, with blue-domed churches and white-walled houses layered along the cliff tops, overlooking the deep, calm caldera bay. When the sun shines, the blue and white buildings reflect against the azure sea, creating an unforgettable Mediterranean landscape. The island's main commercial and transportation hubs, restaurants, cafes, and specialty shops are distributed along the hillsides. The island is also famous for its romantic streets, exquisite white architecture, and magnificent sunset views, attracting tourists from all over the world. Strolling along the narrow cobblestone streets, you can see blue domes, windmills, and terraces facing the sea everywhere, making you feel as if you are in a postcard world.Greece · Santorini

It takes about an hour to fly from Athens to Rhodes. The whole feeling of Rhodes is a bit unlike Greece. Maybe it is a military stronghold, and the long-term presence of the Ottoman Empire’s troops changed the traditional Byzantine style here.

As evening falls in Santorini, tourists have already found their vantage points, sitting or standing quietly, waiting. The once bustling paths gradually empty out, the crowds converging on the cliff edge, becoming the first fixed scene before sunset. Standing on the steps of the blue and white houses, watching the sunset transform the sky from orange-pink to golden-red, then slowly into a golden hue, the town itself seems draped in a golden veil, so beautiful it makes you forget everything. Finally, the entire sunset glow sinks into the Aegean Sea, even the surface is covered with shimmering gold, the wind carries the light scent of sea salt and olive trees, there is no noise, only the sound of the waves lapping the shore, slowing down along with the light and shadow.
