56 reviews

The Aiguille du Midi, located in the Mont Blanc massif of the French Alps, rises to an altitude of 3,842 meters and stands as one of the most iconic landmarks in Chamonix. Its name—literally "Needle of Midday"—derives from the fact that, when viewed from the town of Chamonix, the sun appears near this peak at noon. By taking the Aiguille du Midi cable car—which boasts the greatest vertical ascent in the world—you can travel from Chamonix (at an elevation of 1,035 meters) to the summit in just half an hour. Once there, you can experience the awe-inspiring majesty of the Mont Blanc massif (reaching 4,806 meters) up close, and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the magnificent peaks of the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps.

Station de Morillon - Domaine du Grand Massif

Station de Morillon - Domaine du Grand Massif

5.5

Station de Morillon - Domaine du Grand Massif is located in the small town of Morillon. It is a pearl full of Savoyard style in the ski kingdom of Grand Massif. On the snow-covered slopes in winter, the blue and red snow trails are like silk ribbons wrapped around the mountains. Family skiers prefer gentle snow trails, while cross-country enthusiasts cross the pine forest to explore hidden wild snow trails. Visitors can also experience dog sledding or snowshoe hiking at night. It is recommended to stay in the surrounding wooden house hotel. The soft light of the starry sky echoes the snow on the top of the mountain. In the early morning, you can see the sea of clouds flowing over the fir forest when you open the window. Don't miss the "torch rappelling" before the end of the ski season: hundreds of skiers holding torches meander down from the top of the mountain, like a flowing golden galaxy, decorating the winter night of the Alps into the final chapter of a fairy tale. And when the spring snow melts, the cable car turns into a sightseeing boat, carrying travelers deep into the alpine meadows.
