The Longmen Grottoes are definitely worth seeing—they are a testament to the wisdom and talent of the ancient Chinese people. The Vairocana Buddha, located in the center of the grottoes, is the highlight of the entire complex. The Vairocana Buddha has a full, round face, a broad forehead and wide jaw, crescent-shaped eyebrows, slightly drooping eyes, a slightly upturned mouth, long ears that reach to its shoulders, and a neat, smooth topknot. Its robe flows down its shoulders and arms, with folds resembling flowing water. Some call it the "Mona Lisa of the East," but in reality, it resembles the Tang Dynasty itself.
