The Blue Mountains National Park belongs to the Greater Blue Mountains region. There are large areas of virgin jungle and subtropical rainforest growing in the park, among which the eucalyptus tree is famous. Its volatile oil droplets are refracted by sunlight in the air to present a blue fog, hence the name Blue Mountain. Here, you can hike and explore deep into the tropical rainforest, enjoy the scenery of different seasons, encounter Australia's native animals, and take a high-altitude cable car to overlook iconic landmarks such as the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount.Solitude and the Jamison Valley. △ Enjoy the magnificent sunset view △ See the different seasons in the Blue Mountains △ Meet Australia's native animalsSydney · 17.2km from Katoomba

Three Sisters

Three Sisters

Three Sisters are an iconic sandstone rock formation in the Blue Mountains in Australia, rising on the Jamison Valley cliff edge near Katoomba. They consist of three yellow-brown sandstone peaks standing side by side, named Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo, each at about 900 m elevation. Formed by wind and rain eroding the softer sandstone over hundreds of millions of years, they and the continuous cliffs behind them create one of the Blue Mountains' most recognizable scenes. A widely told Aboriginal legend adds a story to the rocks: three sisters from the Katoomba people fell in love with three brothers from the nearby Nipian people, a relationship that broke tribal law and sparked conflict between the groups. In the crisis, an elder turned the sisters into stone to protect them; no one could ever restore them, and the Three Sisters have watched over the valley ever since. There are several versions of the tale, and it's best taken as a story—the real protagonists remain the three rock peaks before you. When you visit, don't be satisfied with just viewing them from a distance: Echo Point viewing platform is the classic spot to frame Three Sisters with the whole valley in one shot. From there, the Giant Stairway trail descends nearly 1,000 stone steps to the valley floor; walking partway down lets you look up at the cliffs from below, offering a more dramatic angle than the viewpoint. The mist from the Blue Mountains' eucalyptus forest often gives the valley a pale blue veil, and the soft light at dawn and at sunset is ideal for photography. The stairs are steep—easy to descend but strenuous to climb back up, so go only as far as you can manage.Katoomba · 2.3km from downtown

Echo Point (Echo Point) is a good place to appreciate the Blue Mountains. The jungle and canyons are in front of you, and you can look far away from the lookout, and you can have a panoramic view of the scenery. The beautiful, misty mountains of Echo Point are truly blue here, and it's perfect to make this your first stop on the Blue Mountains. There is also a visitor center with information to help visitors understand the surrounding environment. The surrounding facilities are good, there are restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops, where you can buy maps. If you come back at night, you can still see the beautiful night view of the lanterns.Katoomba · 2km from downtown

Katoomba Cascades is a stunning, multi-tiered waterfall nestled within the lush rainforest of the Blue Mountains National Park. Unlike the dramatic, sheer drops of the main Katoomba Falls, the Cascades offer an intimate experience where water flows gently over mossy sandstone ledges into cool, shallow pools. Located just a short, easy walk from the Katoomba Falls picnic area, it is one of the most accessible natural attractions in the region. The well-maintained paths and stepping stones allow visitors to get close to the water, making it a favorite for photographers and families alike.Katoomba · 1.5km from downtown

You haven’t been to Sydney if you haven’t been to the Blue Mountains. World Heritage Site that is 2 hours scenic train ride from Sydney Central Station. If you’re on a budget like me, Get off at Katoomba station & take the bus to Echo Point to see the three sisters and walk the giant staircase down to bottom of the 3 sisters. But if you want to spend a little, Scenic World tour office is just at the exit of the Katoomba train station.

Traveling to Australia, this stop came to Sydney, and followed the tour group to the Blue Mountains to check in. There is a small town called Leura at the foot of the Blue Mountains. It is a very famous town here. Because it is close to the Blue Mountains, many tourists who go to the Blue Mountains will stop here to take a walk and take a break before continuing their journey. Because of its scenery, spring and autumn are its best tourist seasons every year. In spring, the main street of the town is full of cherry blossoms on both sides, and the pink sea of flowers is very beautiful; in autumn, the red and yellow leaves set off the autumn atmosphere. You can choose your favorite season to play.

I visited this small park on Sydney Harbour, after a pleasant walk in the nearby Garigal National Park. Echo Park is compact but well laid out, with some short but pleasant walkways close to the harbour, grassy areas, a separate children's play area, picnic areas on the harbour and toilet facilities. Definitely worth considering a visit if you are in the area. Be aware that there are not many shops in the area, so take water, food etc with you.

Wentworth Falls is also the name of a town of the same name near the waterfall. It was once a very important gathering place for local indigenous people for 22,000 years. Archaeological discoveries have revealed many Stone Age relics and the area is also a famous scenic spot.
