Yaowang Mountain Scenic Area is a suburban mountainous attraction featuring traditional Chinese medicinal culture and stunning landscapes. Spanning 15 square kilometers, this destination combines sightseeing, leisure vacations, wellness activities, and science education. The area's unique volcanic rock canyon topography was formed by Upper Jurassic Moshishan Group strata, showcasing majestic, wondrous, precipitous, spiritual, elegant, beautiful, and serene natural characteristics. The scenic area comprises four distinct zones: Sanzu Peak, Yaowang Residence, Mawei Waterfall, and Stone Forest Greenery. Yaowang Mountain Scenic Area is renowned for its integration of traditional Chinese medicinal culture with breathtaking natural landscapes. Legend has it that Emperor Shennong once tasted hundreds of herbs in the Divine Valley, while alchemists refined elixirs in the Stone Forest to save humanity. The renowned physician Sun Simiao used local herbs and mountain spring water to treat villagers at his herbal clinic. These mystical tales of Shennong, Sun Simiao, and Hua Tuo have imbued Yaowang Mountain with an aura of wonder and legend. Shennong Waterfall Two waterfalls cascade down into an emerald pool, splashing countless droplets that create a spectacular scene on sunny days—"twin waterfalls cradling a rainbow, one pool reflecting seven colors." The rainbow's position shifts with the sun's movement, leaving viewers in awe. Legend has it that Shennong and Sun Simiao often washed herbs here, so later generations named the waterfalls in their honor.Shennong Twin Waterfalls”. Wild Monkey Flat This is the habitat of wild macaques in Yaowang Mountain Scenic Area. Macaques are national second-class protected animals. Don't worry - the clever monkeys here are naturally playful and particularly enjoy interacting with visitors for photos. Horsetail Waterfall The Mawei Waterfall, also known as the "Rainbow from the Ninth Heaven," is hailed as "Quzhou's Premier Waterfall." With a drop of nearly 100 meters and a width of 7 meters, it roars with thunderous power during the rainy season, cascading down in a majestic torrent. When the breeze sweeps through, the waterfall scatters like a horse's tail, misting into the emerald pool below and creating a dreamy veil of spray. Walking through this natural wonder, visitors are greeted by cooling winds that instantly dispel the summer heat. The Eight Immortals from the nearby Baxian Corridor behind the waterfall are said to frequent this enchanting spot. Lingxiao Sky Bridge The 168m-long transparent glass bridge, suspended over 120m above ground, is the perfect spot for photos in the attraction. Walking across feels like strolling through clouds, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the valley's core landscapes. Tian Valley Slide Spanning over 350 meters with a vertical drop of 110 meters, this thrilling ride takes you from the mountain peak to the base through multiple twists and turns, all while weaving through lush forests for an immersive nature experience. Safe yet exhilarating, it's perfect for all ages and the ideal way to descend the mountain with ease.

West Lake

West Lake is the core scenery of Hangzhou, with cloud-covered mountains on three sides and the city on one, and the two long causeways, Su Causeway and Bai Causeway, lie across the lake surface, dividing the water into several stretches large and small. Among the lakeside highlights, the "Ten Scenes of West Lake" handed down from the Southern Song dynasty rank first, and together with the later "New Ten Scenes of West Lake" and the "Three Reviews of the Ten Scenes of West Lake," over a hundred attractions spread out along the lake shore and the surrounding mountains, with pavilions, terraces, temples, and pagodas, gardens, causeways, and islands setting off one another against the distant mountains and nearby waters; the legend of the Broken Bridge, where Bai Niangzi and Xu Xian met, adds a touch of story to the lake and hills. There is no need to insist on visiting every spot; simply choosing a stretch of shoreline and wandering slowly is pleasant enough. You can explore West Lake on foot, by cycling, by the sightseeing electric shuttle that circles the lake, or by boat. The shuttle route makes exactly one full loop around the lake, saving effort and being convenient; cycling along the lakeside is leisurely and romantic, with many public bicycle rental points along the shore; if you want to take a boat, the several piers around the lake offer different boat types and routes, and it is recommended to take a boat to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon in the center of the lake while enjoying the lake views from the water along the way; alternatively, you can hail a rowboat at the lakeside and let the boatman row you around the lake for a more free and flexible experience. Attractions on the north shore are concentrated. The usual route starts from Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge in the northeast corner, follows Bai Causeway to Solitary Hill, and along the way you can see cultural views such as the Xiling Seal Art Society, the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, the China Seal Museum, and Zhongshan Park–Pavilion for Releasing Cranes, taste a bowl of authentic West Lake vinegar fish at Louwailou, and then pass Xiling Bridge to the Temple of King Yue and Breeze-Ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden. In summer when the sun is strong, you might instead walk along Beishan Road, hide under the dense shade of the trees, and look at the curve of Broken Bridge and the swaying weeping willows on Bai Causeway; along the way there are many entrances where you can climb Baoshi Hill for high views; in the evening, the live performance Impression West Lake on Yue Lake is also well worth seeing. If you have plenty of time and energy, you can also get on the Su Causeway from around the Temple of King Yue and walk to enjoy the full view of West Lake. Hubin Road to Nanshan Road along the southeast shore is another area with a dense concentration of attractions. Hubin Road sits at the junction of the urban area and the scenic area, right next to the downtown commercial district, making it suitable for a short stop for travelers on a tight itinerary; by the lake there is also the iconic musical fountain and a cruise pier. From Hubin Road heading south along Nanshan Road, Orioles Singing in the Willows, the Long Bridge, Leifeng Pagoda, and Evening Bell at Nanping Hill line up one after another, and further west is Viewing Fish at Flower Harbor. The distances between adjacent attractions are convenient to cover on foot or by sightseeing bus, and you can choose a few to visit according to your preferences. Leifeng Pagoda and Evening Bell at Nanping Hill are best scheduled for the evening—listening to the bell at Jingci Temple and climbing Leifeng Pagoda to look down over the lakes and hills in the twilight are both excellent experiences.

For those coming from Quzhou, a half-day trip is enough. It's a beautiful place, and you don't need to climb many mountains; there's transportation available. Overall, it's a pretty good experience and worth a visit.

The ancient town was quite quiet, with not many tourists. The architecture was very distinctive, and we hired a guide to explain things, which helped us learn a lot about its historical heritage. The town isn't large; you can explore it in about two hours.

Ershibadu Ancient Town is located at the junction of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi provinces, known as "one foot in three provinces." Its architectural style blends Huizhou style with characteristics of the three provinces, featuring white walls, black tiles, and exquisite wood carvings. Recommended tour route: Entrance → Agricultural Museum → North Gate → Military Official's Office → Wenchang Palace → Dialect Surname Celebrity Hall → Military Intelligence Bureau Female Agent Exhibition Hall → Longxing Money Exchange, approximately 2 hours in total. Highlights include the well-preserved Wenchang Pavilion, the Dialect Hall, and the Qing Dynasty-style wood carvings on the money exchange's gate tower. The area is relatively uncommercialized. The scenic area is small. If time permits, it can be combined with visits to nearby Xianxia Pass or Qingyang Mao Clan Cultural Village. Overall, it is suitable for tourists who enjoy history and culture and a leisurely pace. Driving is recommended as parking is convenient.

Worth a visit. But it's very tiring on the legs. "One man can hold off ten thousand," no wonder it held off the common people in the past. The ancient stone path is nestled deep in the bamboo forest and mountains, with four passes rising one after another. Touching the mottled stone walls, the phrase "Key to Southeast China, Throat of Fujian" isn't just a slogan, it truly carries weight. The mountain breeze, bamboo groves, inscribed steles, and gate towers make for a comfortable stroll. But don't expect it to be a trendy tourist spot—the stone steps are steep, slippery after rain, and climbing is exhausting. For those with children or elderly people, it's best to turn back at the first or second pass. In short: it's not a stunningly beautiful attraction, but it's the kind that grows more charming the more you explore. Wear non-slip shoes, allow half a day, and take your time.

Fugai Mountain is a unique mountain in Jiangshan area. It is not high and has a regular hiking trail and an adventure cave route. The latter is the best route to climb Fugai Mountain, but the cave was very slippery today, so it was not suitable. In the end, we could only take the regular trail. The scenery at the top of the mountain is still very good, but the fun is greatly reduced. It is better to come in spring or autumn. You must wear very non-slip shoes.

Qingyang Mao Clan Cultural Village is an ancient village scenic spot. It's the birthplace of the Mao clan in Jiangnan, historically producing many notable figures, especially eight ministers from the Song and Ming dynasties. While some tourists say it's a bit of a publicity stunt, it is, after all, the ancestral home of Chairman Mao, making it a reasonable site for commemoration. The tour route is simple: Mao Clan Ancestral Hall ~ Lotus Pond ~ Mao Zedong Statue Memorial Hall ~ Qingyang Ancestral Residence ~ Mao Zishui's Former Residence ~ Shangshu Academy ~ General's Hall. These six paid attractions are visited sequentially without backtracking. There is also the Qingyang Ancient Pagoda, but it's quite far from the main scenic area. The Mao Clan Ancestral Hall is a modern reconstruction; it's quite large and consists of the Mao Clan Celebrity Hall and the Mao Zedong Exhibition Hall. This is also the most time-consuming part. The Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, Qingyang Ancestral Home, and Mao Zishui's Former Residence are all located on the main street opposite the Lotus Pond. The General's Hall and the Academy are also in the same area. The scenic area's route signs are very clear, so it's not easy to get lost. The exhibition halls are not large, but they are all old Hui-style buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It's easy to take great photos of the ancient buildings here, especially from the Lotus Pond, where the scenery is most charming (last photo). The residents of Qingyang Mao Family Cultural Village still live a very simple life, completely untouched by commercialization, making it a veritable paradise. It's about a ten-minute walk from Jianglang Mountain, so it can be combined with other attractions for a day trip.

Quzhou's ancient city has many photo spots; it's too hot during the day, so go out at night and you might encounter many NPCs. The streets are clean, and the food options depend on your preferences. There are also many exhibition halls, all of which close at 9 PM, which is very convenient.

We visited a much better tourist attraction than we had imagined. The air was fresh, the natural environment was pristine, the vegetation was lush, and there were waterfalls and streams. Most importantly, there were few people, making for a wonderful experience. We saw adorable monkeys, walked across the glass walkway, and rode the glass zipline – a truly immersive and fun experience. The hike was easy, perfect for families with children like us. We chatted and laughed, enjoying the journey at our own pace.

I originally just wanted a place to rest and relax, but I unexpectedly found the Junlan Hotel in Sanqingshan to be surprisingly comfortable. The hotel is nestled beside the mountains, with fresh, clean air, and an evening stroll through the park was incredibly therapeutic. The room was very clean and tidy, the hot water came quickly, and the bed was very comfortable; after hiking, lying down there instantly made me feel refreshed. The staff were all very friendly and easy to talk to, without any awkwardness. The breakfast was light and delicious, perfect for a satisfying meal before heading up the mountain. Parking was convenient for those driving, and the road to the scenic area was easy to navigate. Overall, the hotel didn't feel overly commercialized; it was quiet, simple, and perfect for those looking for a slow-paced vacation. I highly recommend it.

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.
