Historic Jeddah is the historic old town of Jeddah, located on the shores of the Red Sea. Many historic houses were built using materials such as coral stone and wood, with exterior walls featuring exquisite wooden oriel windows and latticed grilles that are both decorative and helpful for ventilation and shading. Narrow alleys connect traditional dwellings, mosques, ancient markets, and shops, preserving the original spatial layout of the historic district. The historic buildings here reflect the architectural wisdom of local residents in adapting to the hot coastal climate and also showcase the cultural influence brought by Red Sea trade.Jeddah · 6.5km from downtown

King Fahad's Fountain rises from the sea off the coast of Jeddah, serving as a highly recognizable landmark of the city. Its towering water column can be seen from many locations along the waterfront. The fountain draws seawater directly from the Red Sea, propelling the water column to a height of over 300m at a speed of over 350 km/h. The volume of water in the air can reach over 10 tons, making it a distinctive local feature. After nightfall, hundreds of spotlights turn on, and the falling water traces a huge arc under the lights, plunging from high above into the sea. Visitors often stop to gaze up at it from the Jeddah waterfront, and the illuminated water column at night is a must-see.Jeddah · 4.2km from downtown

The approximately 4.2-kilometer-long Jeddah waterfront promenade has been transformed into a relaxed area with a marina, swimming pools, restaurants, beautiful walking trails, and bike paths. Identical sculptures by figures such as Henry Moore and Joan Miro, which arrived in the city in the 1970s, are located along the waterfront. For many, a visit here is to watch the sunset over the Red Sea and then admire the King Fahd Fountain, which rises to a height of 300 meters and illuminates the entire city until midnight.Jeddah · 9.4km from downtown

as a local this is one of my favourite spot in Jeddah and a must visit for every visitor Al Balad in historical Jeddah is an incredible place to explore! The old buildings with their wooden balconies, colorful doors, and narrow streets take you back in time. The area is full of life, with local shops, art galleries, and traditional cafes serving Arabic coffee. Walking through Al Balad feels like stepping into Jeddah’s rich history and culture — a perfect spot for photos, food, and authentic Saudi vibes!

How should I put it? This fountain is really nothing to see. Without the background of lights, it is just a white stream of water. It looks boring, but the scenery at night is pretty good. Some Saudis often bring their families to have picnics under the palm trees to enjoy the cool air. It is very pleasant.

Jeddah is the second largest city in Saudi Arabia, the largest port, and an important financial center. It is about 70 kilometers east of Mecca. It is located in the middle of the western coast of Saudi Arabia and is under the jurisdiction of the Mecca region. The climate is hot and humid most of the year, and the humidity decreases in winter.
