Ice Palace - Jungfraujoch

Ice Palace - Jungfraujoch is hidden in the glacial depths of the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe in Switzerland, located approx. 20m below the observation deck. In the 1930s, two mountain guides used ice axes and ice saws to hand-carve halls and passageways into the ice of the Jungfrau Glacier. Since then, artists have continued to create within the ice, making it an ever-evolving ice sculpture. Push open the revolving door and follow the stairs bathed in blue light. The rock walls overhead gradually give way to the glacier, and the passageway becomes increasingly crystalline. Ice sculptures appear faintly in the dim, ambient light, and you can also see works themed around the three famous peaks: Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger, as well as cute little squirrels hidden within the ice.
