Incheon Chinatown

5.3
4.5/5
273 reviews
Incheon Chinatown gradually developed after the port opened as merchants and laborers from Shandong settled in the area. In the early years, the streets were lined with shops selling Chinese goods, but today most have been replaced by Chinese restaurants and souvenir shops, and hundreds of overseas Chinese still live here. A Chinese-style archway over 10 m high stands at the entrance of the street. Red brick buildings, large red lanterns, and painted eaves make Chinese red the main color tone of the entire street. The former site of Gonghwachun has now been converted into the Jajangmyeon Museum, where you can take a closer look at the century-long history of this Korean dish. The Three Kingdoms Mural Street next to the Overseas Chinese Zhongshan School spreads scenes from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" along the walls and is a popular spot for taking photos. The Yishantang Temple, built in the early days of the port, and the Korea-China Cultural Center showcase the faith and daily life of the overseas Chinese. When you are tired from walking, having a bowl of dark, rich Jajangmyeon, a serving of sweet and sour pork, and freshly baked hollow bread from an overseas Chinese bakery is the classic way to eat here.Incheon · 8km from downtown

Wolmido Island was once an island about 1 km away from the Qianhai Sea of Incheon, but it was gradually connected to the land during the construction of the road. Wolmido is named after the shape of the island in the shape of a half-moon tail. Wolmi Island is not far from Seoul, and the transportation is convenient. Tourists often come here on weekends. There are cafes, sashimi shops, restaurants, etc. on Wolmido Island. What a pleasure it is to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the West Sea and taste delicious food. There are more than 50 sashimi shops on the island, carefully making delicious seafood for tourists. In addition, the 1,200-meter-long Cultural Street extends from graffiti pillars, encounter places, art venues, and performance venues all the way. There are performances here as soon as they come, and street painters also improvise paintings for tourists. A must-see on Wolmi Island is the amusement park. Although not comparable to other large-scale theme parks, the amusement park is famous for Apollodisco and pirate ships. Thrilling pirate ships attract tourists from all over the country, and Apollodisco is a lot of fun even just looking around. From Wolmi Island, you can also take a cruise around the beautiful scenery at any time. The cool sea breeze, the clear waters of the West Sea, and the seagulls hovering in the sky are all intoxicating.Incheon · 9.7km from downtown

The cruise on the Han River, which moves slowly along the water, provides a space for citizens who are disturbed by noise and air pollution in the noisy city to breathe fresh air, rest and entertain. At present, there are 6 cruise boats for tourists to ride on the Han River from Yanghwa to Jamsil. The places that can be reached by cruise ship include Yeouido, Jamsil, Gyeongdo, Yanghwa, Lanji, Seoul Forest, Jamdubong Pier, etc., and they can be roughly divided into two types according to the route of operation. One is a circular route that detours around the pier and then returns to the original pier, and the other is a one-way route, either starting from Yeouido and arriving at Jamsil via Bongdo; or starting from Jamsil and passing through Bongsil The island arrives at Yeouido. During the cruise, you can have a panoramic view of the scenery around the Han River, including the famous places such as Yuri Island, Cheildusan Park, 63 Building, Seoul N Namsan Tower, and Jamsil Sports Arena. Gyeongbokgung Palace is located in the center of Seoul and was the first palace built during the Joseon Dynasty. The name "Gyeongbok" is derived from the phrase in the Book of Songs, "May the nobleman live ten thousand years and receive great blessings," embodying the royal family's wish to share peace and prosperity with the people. The palace offers charming scenery throughout the four seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, fragrant ginkgo trees in fall, and snow-covered landscapes in winter, resembling a piece of jade. Many Korean dramas, such as "Dae Jang Geum," "Rooftop Prince," and "My Love from the Star," have been filmed here. Gyeongbokgung Palace has Gwanghwamun to the south (the main entrance, renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, outstanding architecture, and elegant design), Geonchunmun to the east, Yeongchumun to the west, and Sinmumun to the north. Watching the royal guard-changing ceremony is a must-see. ,Seoul · 27.6km from Incheon

I’m a regular visitor of this Spa! I speak Korean but I’ve never really needed to, so as an English speaking foreigner you’ll have zero issues! The website says you have to cover up tattoos but I don’t think anybody actually enforces it as I saw many walking with tattoos so no need to worry about that either! It’s a great place for family’s and as a friend outing too. Seriously amazing pools and I still haven’t explored it all even after visiting so many times! I will probably return again!

Wolmido is very far from Seoul city but it’s nice to visit. You can ride mini train to get to wolmido park while enjoying the scenery. It’s best if you plan to go in to the theme park, if not you’ll get boring fast.

Stunning views over Seoul, especially at sunset. N Seoul Tower sits on top of Namsan Mountain, and the 360-degree panorama of the city is well worth the trip. We went around sunset and watched the skyline light up, which was magical. The Locks of Love fences are a fun stop for couples, covered in thousands of padlocks and messages. The observation deck has interactive displays and cafes, and the park around the base is lovely for a stroll.Tips:Go at sunset to see both the day and night viewsTake the cable car or Namsan shuttle bus to save your legsBook observatory tickets online to skip the queueCheck the weather first, as haze or fog can spoil the viewBring a jacket, since it’s windy at the topA romantic, easy stop for couples visiting Seoul.

In the height of summer, Seoul Tower is more tiring with its uphill climb, but less of a hassle waiting for the cable car. It's a must-see attraction for first-time visitors. You can choose whether or not to go up the tower at your own expense; it's similar to the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. The all-glass bathrooms inside the tower are a major highlight! 😂

I visited the Eland Hangang River Cruise with my family, and we had such a wonderful experience! The views of Seoul from the river were beautiful, and the whole cruise was relaxing and enjoyable. It was a perfect way to spend quality time with my family and make lovely memories together. Definitely recommend it, especially for families visiting Seoul!

Big, beautiful and bustling! The palace is so spacious with so much to see and wander through. It can take you a couple hours but it’s wonderful and vibrant. I wish there was more historical information but it seems like it is being expanded in some ways. There’s tons of tourists and pretty places to take so much photos. If you wear traditional clothing, you get in for free!

My child’s elementary school playground was too small, so we moved to the Incheon Asian Games Main Stadium. The funding for its construction was probably insufficient, and the facilities there are not very good now.
