Qingyan Ancient Town, located in Huaxi District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, was first built in the tenth year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1378). This ancient town is renowned for its exquisite design and craftsmanship, with Ming and Qing dynasty architecture complementing each other, featuring temples, pavilions, painted beams, carved rafters, and flying eaves arranged in a harmonious and picturesque manner.
1️⃣ Bluestone Road: A distinctive stone alleyway runs through the ancient town. The bluestone slabs, polished smooth by centuries of erosion, are gleaming. The street is lined with courtyard walls built of layers of stone slabs. The narrow and quiet street follows the contours of the mountain, making it a perfect spot for photographers.
2️⃣ Overlooking from the City Wall: Qingyan Ancient Town has four city gates: east, west, south, and north. Dingguang Gate and Xuanwu Gate are the most iconic. Climbing the city walls requires ascending stairs near the gates, with the stairs between the west and north gates being the steepest. Standing on the city wall, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire ancient town.
3️⃣ Coexistence of Four Religions: Qingyan Ancient Town is a place where multiple religious cultures coexist, with Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Catholicism, and other religions living together harmoniously.
