Sunset cruises thrive on the atmosphere on board, and in this case, it was outstanding. An extremely friendly crew of young Hawaiian students, a captain who really sails, and the fantastic scenery. It couldn't be better.

We took the afternoon tour with lunch and dinner. They picked us up in a nice, air conditioned van from our hotel and we drove around the island for about 11hrs. Our first stop was the Greenwell coffee farm with free samples, which we really enjoyed! We also stopped at a bakery and the black sand beach for lunch. Later, we went to the volcanoes national park to see some steam vents, lave tube and the start of an eruption before having dinner and heading back to Kona. Definitely recommend doing a tour to save yourself the hours of driving and planning!

This was a lovely tour walking/hiking in the area that is being is slowly being reclaimed to show how the ancient people used the land. The waterfalls were beautiful and serene. Gary our tour guide was very nice and gave us information about the area. Appreciate the pics that you took us, Gary. Mahalo
