The day trip is good! The tour guide Jimmy did provide info on what to buy in the particular tourist attraction. I have issue looking for toilet in Kirinko lake...the public toilet is very far away from the drop off point★

The electronic 3-day pass allows you to choose any 3 days out of 5, whereas the paper pass only allows 3 consecutive days. The electronic version offers more flexibility, and it's very convenient if you have a data SIM card on your phone.
This trip started from Hakata Station and ended directly back at Fukuoka Airport, without backtracking. I used the SUNQPASS Kitakyushu 3-day pass throughout the trip, using it on days 2, 3, and 5. Transportation costs on arrival days were my responsibility, and I booked a day tour on day 4. The pass allows free rides on highway buses, local buses, and designated ferries.
Upon arriving at Fukuoka Airport on day 1, I went to the counter to exchange my reservation for physical tickets. The staff will ask to see the electronic pass I purchased, but it doesn't need to be activated.
When boarding the highway bus, you need both the physical ticket and the activation ticket for that day shown on your mobile phone. For local buses, you go up from the back door to get a numbered ticket. When you get off at your stop, show the driver the activated ticket for that day, and drop the numbered ticket into the bin. The high-speed ferry from Shimabara to Kumamoto also accepts a pass. Show it to the staff at the ticket counter, and they'll give you a handwritten ticket. Just hand it to the staff when boarding.
Our trip covered our costs, but wasn't much cheaper. However, it was so convenient because you don't need to pay with coins when getting on and off; they just count out 10/50/100 yen coins there.

I had a wonderful time in Yufuin! I wish I had had more time to stroll around the onsen, but I still managed to take some great photos. The mountain views were breathtaking, and the village itself was visually stunning. The highlight of my trip was taking the train back to Hakata Station. If you are in the Kyushu region, especially Fukuoka, I highly recommend visiting Yufuin.★

This was my first solo trip with two kids, and every minute was incredibly nerve-wracking. Fortunately, we quickly found a guide who was kind and caring from the beginning until we finally parted ways, making the entire trip a satisfying experience. The kids said goodbye, promising to see each other again. I, too, am Chinese, but I appreciated his fluency in Japanese and Korean. I appreciated his prompt feedback and precise handling of the situation.★

It would have been even better if it hadn't rained so we could have seen more animals! But thanks to the kind explanations from the guide sitting next to me, I learned a lot about Fukuoka haha. It makes me really want to come back with my mom on a nice day 😀
