Reviews: Guided tour: Timanfaya National Park and La Geria with pick-up
Guest User2023-11-26
We wanted to book a South Island tour with our tour operator, Jet2, but they never responded to our call!! Now we are glad they didn't! This tour was great. Very informative, the guide was friendly and funny and her English was great. We started at the camel rides, and although my husband and I didn't want a ride, it was an interesting stop. There was a small museum, toilet and gift shop, and we were there for around 20 minutes. Next, we headed to the Timfanaya National Park. Here, we went to the summit where we saw the geothermic experiments and had time to look around the gift shop, get a drink, use the toilets, and take some great photos! After this, our coach driver took us carefully around the national park, and we learned all about the eruptions on Lanzarote. I loved this part and got some more great photos. If you don't like heights, I'd recommend sitting on the left/ drivers side of the bus, as most of the "drops" are on the right!! We had a short stop in a village that was miraculously missed by the lava flow, here we could buy a drink or some lunch. It was a very pretty spot to stop. Then, lastly, it was on to the vineyards at La Geria. Don't be expecting a full wine tasting. You get to taste one, which was delicious. But, this is where the difference in tours lies. As I said at the beginning, we were trying to book the tour through Jet2, but it was twice the price of this tour!!!! Maybe you get a longer wine tasting on the more expensive tours, but we found this to be perfect for us! The time in each stop was long enough to get some great photos, the guide was brilliant and full of knowledge, and we were out for around 5 hours, which I think is great value. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Expected it to be a bit bigger with more species but for what was there to be seen it was quite value for money. Display tanks were so clean that made the view a delight. The staff are amazing and all speaking fluent English which made my partner and I feel so welcomed. Small gift shop but lovely bits to pick up as souvenirs or for kids. £14. was great value. There’s a beautiful white octopus in there.
Reviews: Snorkel tour Why not?

A great fun activity with a great guide, Mauro. We were booked for a pick up at 11:00am, but Mauro got in touch to suggest an earlier start as it would be less busy and more fish, and he was right. We had two sessions of snorkelling, with a coffee break in between, with a good talk about we had seen, then back in. This was definitely a highlight of our holiday, and we will be doing it again when we are back in Lanzarote.
Reviews: Lanzarote: Timanfaya Park and Jameos del Agua Full-Day Tour

This is the Grand Tour and it was a very comprehensive tour of Lanzarote. We saw all of the sights that we wanted to see including Timanfaya, El Golfo and Jameos de Agua. Our guide was Radmilla and she is one of the best tour guides that we’ve ever had. She was proficient in 3 languages and explained everything in detail so that all of the guests could understand. We appreciate how kind and helpful she was. Also thanks to our great driver JJ. We highly recommend this tour!

The excursion is long and tiring, bear in mind that there is a lot of time sitting and waiting on the bus but in all honesty, I can’t see a better way of exploring the highlights of Lanzarote. As far as I understand, Timanfaya requires to be in a bus anyway, and the rest of the attractions are arranged in groups to reduce the impact of tourism in the island so you may as well do it with this tour and simplify your visit. If I am not mistaken, it is also cheaper to do it this way than buying separate tickets. The guide was punctual, really lovely and accommodating, spoke in 3 languages (Spanish, German and English) and explained everything in great detail. The driving was smooth and the bus was as comfy as buses can be. Food is not included but you are offered the option of having lunch in Haría with the rest of the group. There is no much time for a break so we decided to have a picnic (we were prepared) and explored the town.
