I spent two and a half days in *** and three days in Bangkok, both my second trips. I visited attractions I hadn't been to before, and the flexible and fulfilling schedule allowed me a lot of freedom. However, due to poor planning, I chose a hotel far from tourist attractions in Bangkok. This resulted in several instances of taxis refusing fares and overcharging, which was quite unpleasant (I recommend choosing a hotel closer to attractions for greater convenience). This trip coincided with the Bangkok elections, and sometimes roads in tourist areas were closed, creating a slightly tense atmosphere. Overall, though, it was a good trip; I visited all the planned attractions, and the weather was great. Incidentally, things seem to be much cheaper in Bangkok than in Chengdu (exchanging Hong Kong dollars and Thai baht in advance beforehand is much more cost-effective than exchanging currency locally).★
