As long as you speak a little English, the overall experience is good. The volcano has a short time, and it is recommended to climb to the top.

Really good guide in Pompeii - 2 hours was appropriate because of the heat. Nice winery with lunch and good wine. Great to be able to control your own tour of the volcano. Great with a little pit stop on the way home - really a cozy place and lovely people.
