We did the Auschwitz– Birkenau and Salt Mines Tour yesterday, and it was brilliant. It was a very early start at 4:30am (my son was not too happy about it and I thought it was a bit of a joke at first), but well worth it. There were 8 of us in our group, which was perfect. The Tour Guide spoke excellent English; we all had headphones so we could hear what he was saying - overall, it was a poignant tour. We then went to the Salt Mines, and we only had about 15 to 20 minutes to get something to eat. Thankfully, I had ordered the packed lunch from the Tour Guide - the food was simple but tasty and also very welcome! Both Tour Guides at Auschwitz and at the Salt Mines spoke excellent English and were very clear. The salt mines gave a light relief to the Auschwitz Tour from the morning, but there is a lot of walking! Sebastian, our driver, was very patient with us all, and also very thoughtful. I would totally recommend this visit. Thank you for an absolutely brilliant day!
