Great maritime living history museum with exhibits, period vessels, a historic shipyard, period artwork and a recreated whaling village. Tells the story of New England whaling when its ships spanned the globe and the industry and trades necessary to sustain that industry. Interactive exhibits and activities for children. Pier adjacent and for access to the Charles W Morgan and the Firefighter was closed which was not announced at check in. My last visit here was over 45 years ago. Some modernization of the exhibits and new buildings has taken place since then. The recreated village could use some TLC. While it is supposed to look rustic and period that does not mean that the wood needs to be worn and the equipment, furniture and structures dusty or dirty.★

The tour guide Rob really did an excellent job sharing the history of the mansions and Rhide Island. Rob told us exactly when to turn our heads to get the perfect look and picture of mansions off the road. Breakers was absolutely stunning and amazing! The art work in the architect of the mansion was something i’ll never forget! ★

James was a great tour guide as we made our way around Providence. Although we have live nearby , and driven by these buildings , it was great to hear about the architecture and origins.

Patrick, our guide, did a phenomenal job describing the major landmarks and various ships of Newport and regaling us with stories of the historic city. The cruise was relaxing and provided fantastic views of the Newport bay especially during sunset. Would definitely recommend this cruise to friends.
