I loaded a data-only Trip.com eSim prior to leaving Australia and used it during a 5 day business trip to Singapore. As promised it did not activate until I had landed and logged onto the local network. Everyone uses WhatsApp in Asia so voice comms were easy. Trip.com has an incredible variety of eSims to choose from and is a very simple service to use. No dashboards, no compliacetd logons, it just works.

The internet worked perfectly in China and Japan throughout the entire two-week trip. Initially, the network didn't show up after installing the eSIM, but after restarting the iPhone, everything worked again. The network was automatically found fairly quickly after changing countries. I'll definitely use this eSIM on my next trip.
