Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for the tour to start (either Tui picked us up way too early, or the other participants were late), and the weather wasn't great either (strong wind, occasional light rain). But it was very interesting (plants and history), and the guide was friendly and explained a lot. Unfortunately, no swimming at the waterfall, and we only caught a brief glimpse of deer and, from a distance, bats. We had hoped to see more animals.★

The walk is super beautiful, but through the sharp paths through the “jungle”, which become super swept at wets it is also a challenge and you must really be careful where you go etc. Our two guides were very helpful and careful and depend on the condition and pace of the group. You know the best spots to take photos and were super lovely and friendly. I would make the walk again at any time. ★

We are bird watchers and general nature lovers here in the UK so it was great to experience the nature in Mauritius. Our guide was very informative and looked after us extremely well (we are both in our mid seventies although reasonably fit). Anyone contemplating taking this excursion, particularly those of advanced years, should be aware that it involves a tough walk through the forest.
