Reviews: Matera: Tour of the Sassi with iconic rock-cut churches
Guest User2026-03-29
The tour was very interesting and comprehensive. We were a group of only four people, and it was great because we had more freedom to ask questions. The guide, Giuseppe, was very knowledgeable. Without a guide, you can't understand the true history of Matera.

Nice and interesting tour. Good to hear more about the history of Matera. We had a small group of 6. Our guide made it fun too!

Truly enjoyed our tour with Giuseppe! My friend had injured her leg earlier and he took great care with her, assisting when needed. He showed us around Matera and shared so much information. I loved the cave house and thr very small cave church! Also the view of Matera at night was breathtaking!

Reviews: Matera: Sassi, Murgia, and Tibetan Bridge Trip

Fantastic! It's not every day you get a guide at your disposal (group of 3). And what a guide! Claudio Montemurro took us on a journey through time and space, exploring the lives of the people of Matera. He doesn't just tell stories, he shows you through the eyes of someone who loves his work, his land, and his roots. Thank you! Then crossing the Tibetan bridge at sunset was the best! Bravo!
