Reviews: From Tbilisi: Kakheti Wine Trip + Free Wine&Chacha Tasting

We had a fantastic tour with Nana as our guide. We had the opportunity to see and taste fresh bread baked in traditional ovens and had two wine tasting + Chacha and Brandy tasting sessions, both very generous pours of wine/spirits in two different settings. The tour was in both English and Russian - it was very informative and relevant. Highly recommend!

The Kakheti wine tour with BFT Group was absolutely exceptional and one of the highlights of my time in Georgia. The 7-hour duration was perfect — unhurried, well-paced, and packed with incredible experiences without ever feeling rushed. We visited two local wineries across the Kakheti region, each offering generous wine tastings and a genuine insight into Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions. Tasting wines straight from small, family-run producers made the experience feel authentic and deeply connected to the region. A special highlight was the visit to the Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. Set against breathtaking views, it added a beautiful cultural and spiritual dimension to the day and balanced the wine tastings perfectly. The organisation by BFT Group was seamless, Zuka and Sasha were knowledgeable and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Highly recommended!

We had a great time on this tour and Zurab (The Metro Man) was the best guide we could have got. He was very knowledgeable and very patiently answered our questions. He also gave us a very detailed view of what Georgian life is like (eg, the wine brewing culture and how fathers/patriarchs brew a wine for 16 years from the time there son is born - a Georgian tradition that signifies coming of age for a boy) We had a great time in Kakheti, interacting with a local vendor. The wine tours - for both the family owned and KRW winery were amazing and gave us an idea about how Intrinsic the wine culture in Georgia is. As Zurab mentioned - In Georgia, brewing wine is similar to giving birth and symbolises the very act of procreation. There are countless memories that we take forth from this tour and would surely recommend the tour to anyone who is planning to visit Georgia.

Luka is an excellent host and guide with a copious amount of knowledge on his beautiful country of Georgia/Sakartvelo. This is a must-do tour in the first 48 hours of your trip because Luka will introduce you to the staple cuisine of his country. Of note he taught us about the history of Khinkali, a savory dumpling - like dish that is popular throughout Georgia. This became my go - to dish at every one of my meals after in Georgia. Later, Luka brought us to ChaCha corner to try the staple liquor of Georgia - Chacha. After we continued our working tour and ended the tour at a beautiful restaurant where we tried Gold Wine and more Georgian dishes. Throughout the tour Luka was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and personable. I will recommend him and his tour to all future travelers to Georgia/Sakartvelo. Thank you, Luka!
