Reviews: 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and Lake Naivasha From Nairobi
Guest User2024-07-18
Amazing day tour led by the very charismatic and knowledgeable Jaffar and Harrison. It was surreal cycling through Hells Gate next to grazing zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffalo and other wild animals. Jaffar also provided an excellent history of the Rift Valley, including its geological formation. The boat trip at Lake Navisha was very enjoyable and a highlight was seeing the hippos in the lake, as well as the many birds the lake is famous for and other wild animals on an island in the middle of the lake. Jaffar and Harrison both had a fantastic sense of humour, which added to the enjoyment of the day. I highly recommend this day tour with them as guides.

A lovely day out, definately a small group (just on eother traveller) and a wildlife filled bike ride. Knowledgeable guides including out driver David, at each stage of the day. Fair warning the bike back is upgradient and in higher UV part of the day so take sun precautions
Reviews: Safari Cat Dancers Show And Dinner

This is a well organised and fun night out. Picked up from our hotel as agreed and brought back afterwards without any problems. The food was not great (but not awful) in our opinion, it looks lovely but the meat was mostly tough and the accompanying salad was not great. I think it was here we were given a small plate of fries to share but I may be confused with somewhere else we went. But, the Cat Dancers were amazing. Just brilliant. Dancing and acrobats - think human towers, high energy dancing, bright colours, traditional dress. Superb. So I would recommend going for sure, one of the highlights of my five days in Nairobi. But for me the food is very average (or perhaps I was unlucky and went on a bad night or maybe I am just too fussy).
Reviews: Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre& optional Nairobi NationalPark

Highly recommend the tour — both the Giraffe Center and the Elephant orphanage were unforgettable experiences and contribute to the cause of conserving Kenya’s incredible wildlife. Ask for Meshack as your guide, he’s an all around good guy, very reliable and will go out of his way to make sure you have the best possible experience. He got us to the orphanage in time to watch the feeding and also made sure we got front row seats—intentionally in a spot that kept us dry and mud free when the baby elephants started wallowing in the water. Be prepared to pay extra to explore the national park beyond the orphanage (the tour only includes the Giraffe Center and Orphanage), but it’s well worth it. Meshack knew all the best locations to view wildlife and maximized the time we had in the park. Within tour hours he got us amazing views of crocs, hippos, zebras, ostrich, gazelle, water buffalo, and even got us within feet of a grazing rhino family. We liked Meshack so much we negotiated some extras into the tour and reached out to him to get us from our hard to access hotel to the train station the next day.
Reviews: David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Half-Day Tour in Nairobi

Highly recommend this tour. Book in advance and wear sturdy boots and prepare to possibly get splashed with mud by the baby elephants but it’s worth it. This tour consisted of seeing a rescued baby rhino and getting to hear about her rescue. We then met all the 24 elephant orphans again really interesting to hear about their rescues. The elephants played in the mud and looked like they were having fun. It was great to hear about how they are trained to be returned to the wild and about the work of the trust. Glad to be supporting their amazing work including providing education and jobs to local people.
