Today's day trip was a fantastic experience thanks to driver Wang Hongfu! Not only was he a steady driver, he drove quickly and safely throughout the trip, making us feel at ease the entire way. He also knew the route very well, avoiding several traffic jams and getting us to each attraction on time, without wasting any time on our trip.
The scenery was pretty good, and we had a set meal by the stream for lunch, which was quite expensive. I'd have missed the train, but it was just okay. It was crowded, hot, and smelly, haha.★

First time in Japan and this was one of my favorite tour thus far! Our tour guide Philippe was very knowledgeable about Kyoto traditions, the history of Mt Kurama and navigating the train system. Apparently we booked at his slow season and were fortunate to be his only hikers for the day so felt like a private tour. The weather was reminiscent of Texas heat, therefore nothing unexpected but could be too much for some. This hike requires a level of fitness and should be avoided if you are not so hike is appreciated. We were able to see a dear and her baby while hiking and really enjoy the nature. Philippe route was well planned and I would definitely recommend this to everyone.★
