It worked perfectly right at the Istanbul airport. But don't forget to enable roaming in your eSIM settings. Without it, there's no internet.
You can check your remaining data in the TripCom app. There's good coverage at metro stations in central Istanbul.
Sometimes, in the evenings, the internet would work intermittently. Airplane mode helped.★
