The artistry of the puppeteers, hidden behind a bamboo screen, is impressive, creating seamless movements that enchant audiences. The hour-long show is vibrant, unique, and accessible, with English translations provided. However, the theater can feel crowded, and seating may impact visibility. Overall, it’s a must-see for a glimpse into Vietnam’s rich heritage.

I had such a wonderful time at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater, and I highly recommend the skip-the-line tickets! The performance was absolutely adorable—watching the water puppets dance and interact with the music and storytelling was such a unique and charming experience. The puppets themselves were so cute, and the entire show was filled with colorful scenes that captured traditional Vietnamese culture in a fun and entertaining way.
The skip-the-line tickets made everything so much more convenient, saving us from waiting in long queues and letting us enjoy the show with ease. The theater was cozy, and the performance was perfectly timed, making it a great way to spend an hour in Hanoi. If you're looking for something cute, culturally rich, and full of heart, this show is definitely worth a visit!

The water puppet theater is definitely worth seeing, even without an audio guide and without knowing Vietnamese! Booking tickets on-site means you don't have to stress about getting a ticket, but you'll also pay about double the price.

Had a great tour with Doanh! We were shown places we would have not gone to and had the opportunity to taste different kinds of food from Hanoi. Doanh was welcoming, friendly, and was informative about the culture and food in Vietnam. It started to rain hard so Doanh made sure that we were feeling okay and bought us ponchos. We were also taught how to make egg coffee and rolls and it was a great experience overall. Would recommend!

So much food to try! Great tour for first afternoon in Hanoi as learnt about their cuisine and taste dishes which I probably wouldn’t have ordered by myself. Suggest you don’t eat beforehand as there are lots of dishes at various restaurants and finishes with desserts and egg coffee.
