You need to arrive early if you're a foreigner!! We accidentally arrived at the station 2 hours before departure (we wanted to arrive 1 hour earlier). We eventually realized that if you left 1 hour before departure, you wouldn't have made it on time. Here's why: 1) long distances 2) border crossing 3) queue at the border into China 4) tedious time to fill out the China entry card. You need to factor in time for all of this. It's not quick! At the same time, all processes are as automated and convenient as possible, and the staff are great! They explain everything and help. We arrived at the boarding gate 30 minutes before departure. The platform gate opens 15 minutes before departure and closes 5 minutes later. Keep this in mind. Passports are required for entry everywhere. There are no tickets, just a passport. The train is comfortable and very fast. We got to Futian in 12-14 minutes. The train travels underground the entire time, like a subway. There's no scenery outside the window)) We arrived so quickly that we didn't even realize we had to get out. The people around us helped us realize we'd arrived. I highly recommend the trip.

There are some areas where the signal isn't very good, like in a room, but it works well outdoors and there are no issues. The hotspot is working well and I'm using it well. I'm in a remote area, but there are also places where I often get a signal. It's a clear day. I hope the data connection is good.

I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.


