Reviews: Organic cooking class sigiriya (kumara & family)

We really loved the cooking class with Kumara and his family! He has his own organic garden and only uses these products which is really nice. He could tell us a lot about the local herbs and spices and even knew all the dutch words for the ingredients! I have done cooking classes in Asia before but I felt this one was really not meant to earn the most money but to really give us a local experience. A lot of the hotel owners will try to get you to do a different cooking class because they earn commission which they don’t on Kumara’s class. This makes it sometimes difficult for him to get bookings and he gets a lot of cancellations last minute which is sad. So I would 100% recommend Kumara and his family.

Wonderful experience! Very nice host, who told us about each spice and vegetable. She was also providing instructions on how to cook those. In the end we had 11 dishes which we could enjoy. It was really worth it.
