Today, our family of four had an exclusive tour with Moses, and we were absolutely thrilled. Moses is incredibly knowledgeable, and it's simply a pleasure to listen to him. We felt like we were truly immersed in Amish society. It was also possible to speak directly with the people, sometimes even in German, which was a really exciting experience. Those we spoke with were incredibly kind and very fond of children. At the very first stop, we were even able to pet the little dogs, which my youngest daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed. The ice cream mentioned in the description was a really generous portion and tasted absolutely phenomenal. We hadn't expected that at all. Many thanks again to Moses for a fantastic, very informative, and entertaining trip. Cheers, Christian and family

This was an amazing tour! If you do come here it is worth it to do the premium tour. The bus tour was amazing and very informative. It was interesting to see the Amish out and about living their lives in peace. The house is set up as an Amish house and the lady that gave the tour was very informative.
Reviews: Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish!

Our tour guide, Dale, a local high school history teacher, picked us up in a nice sprinter van at the Lancaster County Welcome Center. We drove a half hour to Strausburg through the country side. As we drove along, Dave taught a class on the Amish starting with their origination as Mennonites. Along the way through the county, he talked about the area and the people. It was interesting to learn the structure of the church districts and how each one can differ to certain degrees from another. Dale was filled with facts and figures and given that we had a small group was able to answer all our questions. We ended our drive at the home of an older Amish couple with grown children. We were invited into the community room (a large open space with a kitchen sink, stove, oven, fridge, counter along one wall) by Susie, the wife. On the lunch table was home made fresh bread, butter, strawberry jam, pickled beets and cucumbers and chaw chaw. We sat and ate with our group while Susie made the food and served us, starting with some sweet tea. Dale continued to help us understand about the Amish way of life. We ate meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, string beans and shoe fly pie with vanilla ice cream. All homemade and delicious (should have skipped breakfast) with plenty to eat. Susie was so nice and helpful and was happy to help Dan with any questions he could not answer or needed some clarification. After lunch we toured the barn/garage and see the buggies and horses up close. After an hour at Susie’s home, we were back in the van and Dale continued our Amish class for the half hour ride back to the welcome center (don't miss Sticky’s Sticky Bun in a trailer next to the welcome center). All in all well worth the time and money with a tasty and healthy meal to boot ! Fully recommend !
