It worked well in Southern Laos. The internet was stable and quite fast, both in and out of the city. All apps worked. It worked great while traveling around Pakse, Tad Tayik Sua, and Tad Fane. As for not having internet access while hiking in the forest, that's normal, so don't worry about it.

We used Unitel e-SIM in Luang Prabang, Van Vieng, and Vientiane. Internet access quality was excellent. It was quite fast, both in cities and in mountainous areas up to 30 km away. Even in caves, the signal was stable. I recommend it.

It works in a lot of countries, the price isn't anything amazing especially depending where you are traveling but it is convenient. I would recommend getting 1gb per day and be prepared that the coverage isn't great.
