This tour is the best I have during my cruise ship trip. The mini van is clean and comfortable. The owner Richard picked up us at the cruise ship port on time. He is very nice, honor and knowledgeable person. He give us many information about the island during the tour. The Fanal Forest and the view points he brought us to are very beautiful. He also brought us to a local shop to have a ice cream. I highly recommend this tour.

It was a fantastic tour, with beautiful scenery. A few days ago we took another tour, on the east side, with the same guide, Romero. We liked so much both the stops and the explanarions, that we decided to go on this west experience as well. For this tour, the stops have been very interesting, maybe even more breathtaking and Romero has been a great guide to us, very knowledgeable, with an interactive style. He made us all feel welcome, safe and relaxed, whilst sharing alot of interesting facts.

We loved everything - the traditional boat and the fact that it was used by family members of those onboard, the local food and drink offered, the stories told (both about Madeira and the lives of those who live here!), the gorgeous views and of course the great company with Diogo and Gonçalo! The perfect experience! Superbly organized, a very clean boat with plenty of space, and a fantastic crew. We had plenty of time to enjoy the water at the perfect swimming spot. The crew catered to individual needs. We also received lots of interesting information about the country and its people. This is exactly the right tour if you don't want a standard trip with lots of other people on board and want to enjoy your time on the water in a more personalized way – whether as a family or a group.

I can absolutely recommend this excursion. The guides were fantastic and explained everything perfectly. I felt very comfortable on board. A safe distance from the animals was also maintained. Unfortunately, the time went by far too quickly.


