We met our guide next to a bakery right by the Gold Museum. It was nice he gave us a tour where the Emerald history and outdoor sales occur before we started our jewelry making. The guys helping us make a ring were fantastic! There were about 6 of us in a room with 2 experts plus our guide and we each had a lot of help melting down the metal and shaping the ring. Note, you can choose to upgrade/add additional emeralds ranging from $30-$120 USD. Pro-tip: pick out a design first, our guide showed us pictures from their IG account. The ring turned out much better than I anticipated! Great unique souvenir that showcases the amazing significance of Colombian's gem.

Leandro is a pro! He brought such knowledge and enthusiasm to this experience it was great. I loved how he took time to explain the history, the process and made the whole experience totally interactive (not just the drinking of the coffee!). This was the very first experience I had when I arrived in Bogotá and it really set the pace for my entire trip.

Our visit to the Palequemao Market was an absolute highlight of our trip to Bogota, and it wouldn’t have been the same without our incredible guide, Maria Jose Caro. She shared fascinating insights into the origins of the fruits and vegetables, offering a deeper understanding of Colombia's rich agricultural diversity. Maria also took us on a delicious journey, introducing us to some of the best pandebonos we've tasted across the country. Every stop in the market felt like discovering a hidden gem, from unique fruits to local delicacies we never would have found on our own.
