My parents were visiting Beijing for the first time, and the Great Wall and the two national parks were must-sees. We were worried we wouldn't be able to fully explore them on our own, so we joined the tour. The weather was nice and sunny, but we needed to bring some autumn clothing. The elderly had very positive feedback, and the itinerary was well-paced. Liu Depeng, our guide for the two national parks, was especially lively and engaging. The elders commented that if history teachers were like him, no one would fall asleep. Overall, we were very satisfied. On the way back, we took the subway to Xidan and ate at Siji Minfu, where the lines were minimal.★

It was the peak season so there’s just too many people but overall we enjoyed our first time visiting Badaling Great Wall. Be careful climbing the steep steps of the wall; without people around is already a challenge but with that much people; well agility is a must too. Anyways our guide is very helpful too and we enjoyed the overall experience. Half day is enough since basically you are just climbing the same thing unless you love the challenge of walking 2 to 3 km of walk.★

The meeting point was easy to find, right outside Dengshikou Metro Exit C. There were many restaurants and a public restroom nearby, making it very convenient. To maximize our experience at the Great Wall, our guide, LINA, gave us 4.5 hours, including lunch, and even suggested a suitable itinerary. The tour was scheduled to end at 5 p.m., but due to traffic congestion on the way to the Summer Palace, it was delayed until 7 p.m.★

I enjoyed the night trip to Badaling. Less traffic on the way and less people on the wall. We had some waiting time before the whole group gathered to depart, we were told to be there between 4-4:14. We didn’t depart till about 5.
