Guide Yang is fluent in both Chinese and English, has excellent business skills, and the vehicle is on time and in good condition. Guide Yang is very considerate of the tourists. Mutianyu is less crowded than Badaling, and the experience is better, but there are many people queuing for the slide on the east line, and there are no staff to maintain order. I personally recommend playing the west line, as the cable car turnover is fast.★

The trip was really nice and Amy was a great guide. I feel the listing isn’t clear enough about time schedule, where to meet and the itinerary… I wish I had more information beforehand. Other than that great trip! I recommend climbing the stairs up to the wall.★

It was great and my first time to visit the Great Wall, even though I have been in Beijing the third time. Escorted tour allows you to get to the Badaling with a coach bus, which the pick up and drop off is easy to find. (But the cable car is not inclusive of the price). The tour guide was friendly and helpful to introduce the spots bilingually and to recommend some nice place to go & food to tastes. She was also storytelling the history of the Great Wall that enriched your tour experience. It makes my feel carefree during the visit. After the outing, I went visiting Bird Nest, previous Olympic Venue in 2028 (top up itinerary), which was arranged seamlessly by the tour guide. Highly recommended if you are going solo trip without doing research.★

We went in the end of July 2025 and booked on Trip.com about 2-3 weeks in advance. The tour included the transport to the Mitanyu by bus as well as the entrance to the Great Wall. On the bus we additionally bought tickets for the cable car (140 RMB per person) an lunch in a restaurant (80 RMB). You could also buy tickets for the chairlift and a toboggan. I definitely recommend talking the cable car (or chairlift) especially if you go in summer as the hot humid air makes hiking very exhausting. The night before the tour our fabulous guide Liz texted as on WeChat informing us where that we meet at Heping Xiquao metro station. When we arrived about 20min early the bus already waited for us. Once we arrived at Mitanyu the tour is individual so you explore the wall for yourself at your own pace. Since it rained the day we want Liz organised us an earlier bus back to Beijing. We would definitely recommend the tour! Liz did a great job and always replied instantly to our WeChat messages.
