This is a great way to get a feel for Alicante and decide what places to visit later. We enjoyed a quick walk through the central market, where there were tastings in the meat/cheese market. Be aware that there is a lot of meat so if you’re vegan/vegetarian and this bothers you, look down. These things always bother me.
We took a quick taxi ride to the “Castle”, where the views are amazing! I wish we had more time there. Then an easy walk down the hill to see the old houses built into the mountainside. Charming!
Our guide, Nadia, provided historical and cultural information throughout the tour. She is enthusiastic and smart. She gave us lots of information and recommendations we can use for the rest our stay. It was challenging to understand her in the beginning as she speaks quickly. This is something she could work on, especially so those who have limited English comprehension can follow along. We truly enjoyed her tour, however, and appreciate her talents as a guide!

Spent a very enjoyable 2 hours around the market with Fran, trying lots of local delicacies.

Absolutely amazing day. Picked up by coach outside the hotel. Very friendly tour guide on the coach. We stopped at a Lovely village and was given lots of great information. Then onto the waterfalls. Stunning and great fun. It was 17 degrees in the water but that did not stop us going in to swim. Amazing experience. Very pleased we visited.
If someone has mobility issues this is not a place for them unfortunately. Lots of steep steps.★

Maria was an incredible guide — friendly, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the area. Guadalest was stunning, and the Algar Waterfalls were absolutely breathtaking. A perfect mix of beauty, history, and fun. Highly recommended!
