Reviews: Mt. Teide and Masca Valley Tour in Tenerife

In the words of my 8 year old son “BEST DAY EVER!”.
We caught the cable car to the viewing platform and climbed to the summit thereafter (permit required to access the summit).
We spent 11 days in Tenerife and this was our last day excursion. We were lucky enough to access the summit of volcano with no other tourists around. We spent 30 minutes at the top taking photos and having a good look around at the crater and views.
Things to note -
If you drive like we did, the roads are long and winding. It’s about 70-90 minutes from most locations on the island. The drive is not for the faint hearted but is manageable.
Parking was a bit of an issue. It’s super busy at any given time. We did get a space eventually but had to walk from the main road nearly to the cable car area at the base.
Boarding is 20 minutes before you allocated cable car time. Be there or be square! They did leave without people who arrived late.
If you are hoping to access the summit of the volcano you need to apply for a permit. We applied for this a number of months before our visit.
Also, if you are going to attempt the summit be prepared for the altitude. Me and my son wholly underestimated the altitude situation. We had to stop nearly every 5 minutes to catch our breath. Took us around an hour to climbed to the top. Yes, parts of the track you will have to physically climb. Take plenty of water and snacks!
All in all…. If you are going up there, go for the summit. Amazing experience and something me and my son will never forget!★

Wow what a tour 3 adults and 2 teenagers went on this trip. We pulled them away from the pool as I knew this was once in a lifetime trip. The teens moaned about 6 hours trip. But I was so so happy when they started to get involved. It didn’t feel like that long and they got so much from it. The meal was tasty and well organised, the coach picked us up from our hotel gf grand adeje, coach wasn’t cramped. The sunset location was so magical and the glass of cava was a nice touch. Moved up the mountain to the stargazing location. The team were so friendly and explained things well. Everyone got to see each item through the telescope and there was no rushing when it was your turn, the moon was amazing day after the full moon. Every member of staff were so helpful and although others were there when it’s your turn it just felt like your party. We got home late but that’s what holidays are about. Really good value for money no added costs. A truly magical trip. Thank you Kieran and the team ✨★

Brilliant trip out. Staff were super helpful and friendly - especially to those with sea sickness. We found a group of whales about an hour into the trip. The boat stopped to watch the whales for at least 20 minutes, if not longer. The visibility looking towards Tenerife was great and we could see Tiede in all its glory from the boat. The music on board was great too and they turned it off when we found whales as not to disturb them too much!
Drinking water was free. Other drinks and food came at an additional cost, but not too expensive.
I would suggest taking a motion sickness tablet before boarding as it can get a bit bouncy on the waves the further out to see you get! I was glad we had taken them as we could really enjoy the experience without worrying about feeling poorly.
I would definitely recommend this trip for a short trip out if you don’t want to spend a huge amount of time out at sea. I’ll definitely be booking the longer experience next time we’re in Tenerife to experience the on board viking show.★

We had an amazing experience on our boat trip to see the whales. We went out with Patrick who was great, really informative and also provided us with funny stories and great chat. Not to mention a wee beverage as we sailed along haha
We saw a family of Pilot whales after a while of searching and it was a beautiful thing to see.
Also enjoyed a cooling dip in the sea as well with a snorkel to see the fish below followed by a lovely wee picnic on board with more drinks.
We will 100% be booking a sunset boat trip and possibly another whale watching trip as well when we return to Tenerife.

It was fantastic great crew and food .seen Pilot whales and dolphins along with a mum and baby dolphin . Drinks were flowing as much as you like. Make sure you take swimwear and towel as these are not provided. You will get wet if sat up front but that can be fun . A great experience all round take some cash to tip crew for fantastic job they do xxx★

We enjoyed the trip and saw dolphins, pilot whales and a turtle. The turtle had fishing line and netting caught around its neck. We managed to free the turtle from the debris which was brilliant. We hope the turtle will live a long life now.
The sea is very choppy and two of my family became sea sick. This did spoil the trip for them.
I would recommend this trip but I would like to recommend to the company running the trip to ensure that the guests are told where to find life jackets and first aid kit. It was somewhat alarming that the captain did not know where the first aid kit was.
