Things to do in Eryuan

The staff were very welcoming and responded quickly to any needs. The hot spring pools were varied and the water was very clean. The water park had many types of slides, both single and double, which were quite thrilling. Overall, I highly recommend visiting.

I went to the West Lake in Dali alone. There were few people, the village was beautiful, the sky was blue, and I met two uncles. One took me on a boat tour and explained it to me, and the other took me out of the village on the highway without paying any tolls. It was a very unforgettable experience.

This trip involved renting a car with my roommates from Dali Old Town to Erhai Lake (also known as Zibi Lake Scenic Area - Rest Pavilion). We parked at "Zibi Lake Scenic Area - Rest Pavilion," briefly walked across the boardwalk, and then took a car to Guanyin Mountain—the highest point of Zibi Lake for panoramic views. Guanyin Mountain: There's only one narrow road leading up to the summit, where there's a parking lot. Of the three viewing platforms on Guanyin Mountain, only the northwest-facing rest pavilion is open. From the viewing platform, you can see the cityscape of Erhai Lake and a portion of Zibi Lake. We specifically chose to go at sunset, but the sun was glaring and the mountain was behind us, so those hoping to photograph the sunset should probably skip it. - Zibi Lake: The view from the southeast side of Zibi Lake was better; if you have enough time, it's worth a walk there. Driving in the afternoon, the southwest side, with its redwood forest, is also quite nice, although the trees aren't as vibrant from the mountaintop. The scenery at the pier is so-so. If you want to kill time, you can go to the lawn on the other side and laze around, or set up a camping chair – that would be very comfortable. - I have to say, renting a car in Dali is really cheap! Renting a car on "Qunar" only costs 30 yuan a day. A car full of five people, driving towards Zibi Lake, was pure bliss.

鸟吊山位于云南省大理白族自治州洱源县凤羽坝子西部，是云岭山脉罗坪山的主峰。其海拔从1550米至3465米不等，因海拔落差大，形成了冷、凉、暖多种小气候区。这里植被覆盖率高，为多种鸟类提供了良好栖息地，山雀、布谷、喜鹊等候鸟每年都会迁徙于此，故而得名“鸟吊山”。  以下是一些游玩后的点评： 优点 - 景色丰富：有丛林、高山草甸、湖泊、牛羊马群等，还有可能观赏到云海、佛光、雾凇等自然奇景，不同季节有不同的美景。- 难度适中：设有多条登山步道，全程没有险峻的地貌，对平时有运动的人来说是一个比较轻松的行程，也适合徒步新手。- 体验多样：沿途设有观景台、休憩亭和文化浮雕，既可以体验野趣，也能感受浓厚的白族民俗风情。- 配套完善：山脚周边有农家乐和民宿，为游客提供当地特色餐饮和住宿。 缺点 - 交通不便：距离大理古城较远，交通不是很方便，建议自驾或跟团前往。- 天气多变：海拔较高，天气变化大，需要提前做好准备，带上保暖衣物、雨具等。- 信号不佳：山上信号不稳定，需要提前下载好离线地图，或者在有信号的地方提前规划好路线。- 缺乏补给：山上没有商店，需要自己备足水和干粮。

A hidden gem along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, this quiet and pristine retreat offers respite from the crowds and is a perfect place to unwind and relax. Stroll through ancient alleys, admire the old stage, and explore Xingjiao Temple to immerse yourself in the history of the Tea Horse Road at a truly relaxing pace.

At the foot of the mountain in Eryuan County, which is known as the "hometown of hot springs", there is a hot spring called Putuo, which is called Putuo Fairy Spring by the locals. Legend has it that Guanyin Bodhisattva left the jade bottle in her hand here. The water of Putuo Spring is as clear as jasper all year round, and it is inexhaustible. When Xu Xiake passed by Putuo Spring, he left his thoughts: "The locals said that there is a hot water cave in Putuo Kongzhong... water gushed out from the bottom of the cave like boiling water. People who entered the cave were steamed by the hot air and sweated profusely, and those who were sick were cured."

Fengyu Town, a national historical and cultural town and a provincial demonstration town, is very beautiful and a good place for vacation and tourism. It is very interesting. Many celebrities have set up studios and lecture halls here. It is a distinctive town.

During the off-season, there weren't many people entering the park at 4:30 PM. You can take a shuttle bus to the top and exit the park along the path; you don't need to buy a round-trip ticket. The butterfly pavilion has many kinds of butterflies, so it's barely worth the ticket price.

Yang Liping's Sun Palace Art Space is definitely worth a visit. Built on a rocky outcrop on Yuji Island in Shuanglang, it features centuries-old trees growing through its walls, stone walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a seamless connection with Erhai Lake. It blends the simplicity of Bai ethnic minority dwellings with the aesthetic sensibilities of an artist. Inside, scenes from Yang Liping's daily life and props from her dance dramas are preserved, with charming details. The waterfront terrace offers particularly pleasant views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake; with luck, you might even spot seagulls. Free admission requires advance reservation, but if you can't get a reservation, you can still enter by ordering afternoon tea. Overall, the experience is superb.

Shuanglang is truly the top choice for a leisurely trip in Dali! Avoiding the crowds in Haixi, exploring the ancient town early in the morning is incredibly relaxing. Facing Erhai Lake and gazing at Cangshan Mountain in the distance, the scenery is breathtaking. Take a small boat to Nanzhao Island for a stroll around the island; the pure white boardwalk is perfect for photos. No need to rush; just relax and enjoy the sea breeze – it's so therapeutic! Highly recommended for relaxation.
