Opium War Museum

The Opium War Museum, also known as the Humen Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, is an important exhibition hall of cultural relics and historical materials of the Opium War and a demonstration base for patriotism education in my country. It is based on the historical background of "Humen sells", and the headquarters of the museum was built in Humen Town, Dongguan. In June 1839, it was here that the national hero Lin Zexu publicly destroyed millions of kilograms of opium seized from British and American ships, thus creating the "Humen sales" incident that shocked China and foreign countries. The highlight of the museum is an exhibition called "Story of Humen", which uses wax figures to reproduce the life and street scenes of the past. Using real objects, photos, models, films, etc., to describe the Opium War clearly and not boring. The most shocking picture is probably the statue that folds the opium in two, which is full of power. In the Opium War Museum, visitors can not only pay tribute to Lin Zexu's generosity under the oppression of foreign powers, but also fully understand the history and historical significance of the Opium War from the detailed historical materials. After the venue is open to the public for free, it has become a Dongguan city. One of the most popular Red Revolution museums. In addition to this museum, the scope of the Opium War Museum also includes Weiyuan Fort, Naval War Museum and Shajiao Fort.Dongguan · 23.8km from downtown

The scenic area is well-managed with ample parking, making parking very convenient. Most thoughtfully, it's a pet-friendly area; you can bring your dog for hiking, praying, and even ride the shuttle bus. The trip was relaxing and enjoyable, a truly fantastic experience! Happy May Day, and have a wonderful trip!

Xixi Ancient Village, located in the southeastern part of Liaobu Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, was first built in the second year of the Hongzhi reign of the Ming Dynasty (1489). It is one of the best-preserved ancient Cantonese villages in the Pearl River Delta region. The village currently has 27,100 square meters of existing Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings, including 15 ancestral halls, 3 study rooms, and 193 traditional residences, arranged in a comb-like layout. The village is surrounded by a 6-meter-high blue brick wall and defensive structures such as watchtowers. The village was listed as a sixth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units in 2006, named a Famous Historical and Cultural Village of Guangdong Province in 2008, selected as a second batch of Chinese Traditional Villages in 2012, and included in the second batch of Chinese Traditional Village Construction Plan in 2015.

There weren't many people at the scenic spot today, but I saw quite a few taking photos in ancient costumes, which added a unique charm to the area, especially given its historical architecture. This location is perfect for those who enjoy taking close-up photos in ancient costumes.

Oh my god, it was a paradise for kids! We didn't want to go home! We tried the Ferris wheel, water park, zoo, and Happy Farm rides – all the less dangerous ones. We even got to experience the sea lion show, which was so much more fun than the ones at the aquarium! We also saw the Liang Zhu Lantern Show, where we outsmarted the NPCs and won several hundred taels of silver – the kids were ecstatic!

Evaluation: Nanshe Village in Dongguan, an ancient village with a history of more than 800 years, is famous for its well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Nanshe Village covers an area of about 110,000 square meters, with 32 existing ancestral halls, more than 500 ancient houses, 25 ancient wells, and 5 temples. The village is centered on the pond, with ancestral halls on both sides, winding alleys, and densely populated houses, showing the characteristics of the water village in the Pearl River Delta. The ancient building complex in Nanshe Village represents the Lingnan style and the characteristics of the Pearl River Delta water village. It is one of the relatively well-preserved ancient building complexes from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in my country. Most of the buildings in the village are in the form of "three rooms and two corridors", covering an area of dozens to nearly 100 square meters, with stone wall foundations, blue brick walls, and door frames covered with red sandstone. Nanshe Village is not only a witness to history, but also a rare typical ancient village of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Lingnan. This is not only a treasure land for tourists to experience the traditional culture and architectural art of Lingnan, but also an example for studying my country's ancient agricultural settlement culture and Lingnan's ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has very high historical and cultural value and architectural art value.

This is the best zoo I have ever been to! The animals here are all very active and interact with each other! It can be seen that they are well taken care of. I have never seen wild animals up close before, and I was even able to feed them personally! We saw elephants "fighting", tigers competing with each other, two giraffes in "love", and many other wonderful scenes!

It's worth a visit. There are many peach trees by the lake, which must be very beautiful when they bloom. When I went there, it was not the season for peach blossoms to bloom, but the small water lily pond was very beautiful. Songshan Lake is very large and suitable for cycling. It is worth a day's visit. I just wandered around and didn't have enough time.

The Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in Humen is an important landmark that carries the memories of the beginning of modern Chinese history, integrating commemoration, historical sites, and patriotic education. In 1839, Lin Zexu led the destruction of opium at Humen, demonstrating the Chinese nation's firm determination to resist foreign aggression and strictly prohibit opium. The hall preserves the site of the opium-destruction pool, realistically recreating the historical scene of that year. It displays precious cultural relics such as Qing Dynasty cannons, opium smoking paraphernalia, and historical documents, systematically showcasing the heroic act of banning opium and the course of modern resistance through a rich collection of exhibits. The park has a solemn and clean environment, with a majestic bronze statue of Lin Zexu standing tall, creating a solemn and profound atmosphere. This place is not only an important window into understanding modern Chinese history, but also an educational base for promoting national integrity and fostering patriotism, carrying profound historical significance.

A small Lingnan style mansion with unique design making use of the small parcel of land. The buildings are well maintained as it is a paying attraction. The public garden next to it is free to enter. A good place to understand the Lingnan style mansion. The highest point in the mansion is a three storey tower offering a good view of the surrounding.
